**Melissa's POV**

It's been 3 days since Anthony has apologized.

**Flashback**

"It wasn't my fault you know" Anthony says reaching over for a cookie. "I'm still sorry" he hesitates to continue eating.

"Excuse me?" I say staring right at him.

"Tripping you. It wasn't my fault I was watching you walk over to the seat next to me that I forgot I had my foot extended out. Next thing you know you're on the floor and Mr.white blames me." He says collecting his papers and organizing them.

I guess he was telling the truth. But why is he apologizing now.

"I'm telling the truth you know" he says with food in his mouth.

I look down and take a deep breathe. "Why are you apologizing now" I manage to say.

"First of all I am human and I have feelings. Second I overreacted --" he stops midway his sentence and checks his phone.

I wait for him to finish his sentence but he never does. I get my stuff ready to leave and say "so now what?"

"Now we can work together without all the awkwardness filling the air" he says smiling down at his phone.

I put on my bag and get up.

"Wait were are you going" he says stopping me from leaving.

"Home" I faintly say.

"Oh. Okay well do you want my mom to take you home cuz it's extremely dark and windy." He says opening the door.

His mom must've heard him open the door cuz she came down all ready with her car keys.

"Let's go" she says walking me down with a tight hug.

*Present*

I lye down on the bed practicing some soccer skills.

"Mel dinner bring Emily down with you" mother yells.

Dad is here. That's unusual, he's always working a day and night shift.

"Kids, well um Mel I would like to say something." Dad says washing down his good with orange juice.

I stop eating and look up. He looks nervous and mom hasn't sat down. I get nervous and start rolling my soccer ball under my bare feet.

"What's going on" I Stretch out my words scared for a response.

"Me and your mother ... Are umm having hard times and we ... we .. we would like to get a divorce."

Mom drops the plate she was washing and it shatters all over the floor.

"Sorry. No one come near the kitchen" she says back at us.

Dad put his head in his hands and breathes deeply in and out.

I just sit there staring back at him balancing the ball under my feet. Like the words he just said was me imagining it all in a big dream.
