When Jess finally arrives I almost have a heart attack.
Theres a knock at the door and I try not to scream. I take a look around the counter and see Jess fiddling with her hair. I catch my breath before crawling to the door.
"Why do you look so bad?" She asks, closing the door behind her.
I roll my eyes, "I almost got eaten by a vampire."
"Yeah right." She sits at the counter.
"And then someone tried to kidnap me."
"Lies."
I stand up in front of her. "Look at me! Im covered in blood."
"Yeah, okay. Ill come back when you want to explain. Call me!"
She struts out and down the road. He hair bounces behind her.
That was useless, I waited half an hour for a twenty second conversation.
I grab my head in my hands, torn on what to do. Why did they want me in the first place? Im glad that my dad made a point of making me do self defence. If they try and attack me ill use self defence. I think of how I could try and throw stakes like darts. I could use the big fancy guns they had. But then again, Im not exactly joining them, Im fighting against them, or not. Im just defending myself.
I walk into the back room and start washing my hands, washing up my arms. My own crusted blood spilling into the sink. The water slowly turns clear again and my hands clean again. I wash and dress my wounds, assured that they would fix themselves.
This is messed up. Three days ago this meant nothing to me, just a desire to know. I feel guilty, Im not sure what for though. I wash my face and tie my hair up in a pony tail, so it wont bother me if I have to run again.
I need to think about defending myself. Then again, Im only defensless when Im in the hypnotic trance sprung on me by a vampire. I search through the shop for something that I could use as a weapon and realise that running away is the best thing I can do. I can threaten them with a stake?
I cant. I need to go home. I need to shower. I need sleep.
I sneak out the shop and walk as fast as I can down the road. I manage to make it home without anyone seeing me, I think.

Throughout the week I wait for them to come back, yet they seem to have disappeared. Slowly, I become more and more relaxed. The likelyness of them coming back is slim.
I leave that night, relaxed yet tired. I dont really control where I walk, swerving down the path and down into the dodgy part of town again. A familiar gang is standing in the middle of the road, hands up, pointing.
I walk up to a man with long hair and a fur coat. His dark hair glistens and I am fixated on his sense of authority. He looks me down before twirling me around.
"Hello there." He murmurs.
I smile at him and he flashes bright white teether, sharp like razors.
I flick back to reality for a moment. It doesnt matter, I convince myself, Im safe.
Someone picks me up.
"Hold on tight, and close your eyes, dont want you being sick."
I smile and close my eyes. Where are we going?
I feel wind whip past me and I panic, he manipulated with my brain to get me to go with him. I cant use my first defence when hypnotised...
I feel myself falling, and I probably am, then colliding straight with the floor. I force myself to standing, pretending to be hypnotised.
"I can tell youre faking it." The one with the fur coat says.
We are in a basement somewhere near by, Im assuming. The walls are damp and atmosphere cold.
"You are here for when we get hungry, ya know?"
I consider my possible escapes. A cold finger possisions me to look back at him.
"Dont think about escaping, the doors are locked."
I decide to take a different approach, sitting down on their sofa.
"Im glad you accepted your inevitable death.
I roll my eyes and quietly plot revenge. This is completely ridiculous. I cross my arms to keep in heat, but cant help but shiver.
The whole basement is dark and damp, smelling a bit like rotting flesh. There are patches of blood on the wall and a hallway leading to goodness knows where. There is a lone sofa in the centre of room, which I am sitting on. The constant sound of dripping lulls me into a sense of calmness. Weird or not, I let my eyes droop and close without a fight.
I mean, I have really slept well in the last week or two...

I sit to a start when the door bursts open. I cling onto the sofa as people run in, and I almost flip when I see who they are. No suprise, Pete, Andy, and gang are standing in front of me again.
"All we want is the gun back. That is all we demand." Pete says, lifting up his fists.
The other vampires look scared and take a step back. I send pleading eyes towards the guys, if they take me, the likelyness that Ill die is smaller than if I stay here. Andys eyes lock with mine and he rolls his eyes. Yeah, its me again.
"Just give it and none of you will get hurt."
'Take me with you' I mouth at Andy. I can see his brain processing. He turns to his friend and whispers in his ear. His friend has side burns and a weird hat. A hand on my shoulder stops me from standing and walking over towards them.
"Im going to give you twenty seconds before we kick ass."
I send a look over at Andys friend and he shrugs like he is saying 'why not'. I nod slowly, waiting for something to happen. Everyone is standing in silence, unmoving. The hand tightens on my shoulder and I raise my shoulders to meet it, morphing my face to fit the pain. Andys friend whispers in Petes ear before pointing at me.
"And we will take her too?" He says like Im just a stupid extra.
Everything is still for a moment, just the sound of hushed breaths in my ears. Suddenly Pete steps forward, throwing a punch that sends a vampire flying into the wall. This sends Andy and his friends into a murdering frenzy. They run forwards and start attacking vampire, which attack back.
People are being thrown around, what do I do?
