Here Comes... My End

I frowned, as I looked at myself in the full-length mirror. The blue dress that my soon to be stepmother brought me to the wedding in two hours moved around my knees as I spun back and forth. It was a pretty dress but it was like nothing could lift my mood, not to mention I had my wonderful stepsister to meet today. Anybody else senses the sarcasm? Roxy even asked if our sister to be would be evil like the one in Cinderella. Of course, I said no but who knows. My stepmother was nice enough but I haven't really made an effort to go out of my way to get to know her. This was just all moving to fast for me.

"Isabella!" Roxy yelled coming into the room. My hazel eyes shifted away from the mirror to look at her. Her face that usually had a bright smile on it held a frown. Riley was behind her looking just as unhappy. I put on my best fake smile and bent down to be eye level with them.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I don't want a new mommy! I like our old mommy more!" Roxy said as big tears came to her green eyes, which only made them shine more. Riley just looked angry. I sighed.

"Listen," I whispered looking into both sets of eyes, "what matters here is that Daddy is happy. I want you to give Gina a chance," I whispered as I tried to keep my voice calm. They both looked at each other and then me, trying to see if that's what I really wanted. Roxy looked into my eyes trying to read me but I had learned a long time ago to block out unwanted emotions. When mom died the twins were still young and my father and I had to be strong. When one of them came up and asked when mom was coming back I had two choices. Run and cry or put on a smile and tell them I didn't know. I picked option two, for them and myself.

Finely both twins nodded and I smiled. There was a knock on the door and I looked to see my father in his tux smiling at us. The wedding was just going to be my stepmom and her daughter with my dad, the twins and me. "Ready?" He asked with a giant smile. No! I wanted to scream. I wasn't ready for this but instead, I smiled a bit and nodded. When we walked throw the courtroom doors I saw my stepmother and a knee-length white lace dress and her blond hair tied up in a nice bun. Next to her was a girl my age with the same blond hair wearing a blue dress similar to mine, except hers went to the point where it covered her feet and had sleeves. Strange, it's like ninety degrees outside. I shrugged it off right when my stepmother looked at us. She smiled brightly and ran into my dad's arms. He held her tight. I watched them and as much as I hated it I softened. They really where happy.

My eyes shifted to my stepsister and my frown was back. If looks could kill I would be six feet under and already covered in dirt. I glared right back even though it honestly looked like she could feed me my teeth. She obviously worked out a lot and got every last good gene in her family. "I'm so happy you girls get to meet," Gina's voice broke throw the glaring contest. "Isabella this is my daughter Liz, Liz these are your new siblings Isabella, Roxy, and Riley."

"Great," Liz said, her voice snobby and full of sarcasm. We walked into the courtroom and the wedding was over in about thirty minutes. "Now that this is over can I go hang out with my friends?" Liz asked. Gina frowned at her but sighed.

"Fine, go," she said. Liz quickly walked to her car. "Liz is in a boxing group with a bunch of kids from school. They practically live at the gym," Gina laughed. My father smiled and pulled her close to his side. She smiled happily up at him.

"Well maybe Isabella could join her in going to the gym some time," My father said. Something seemed to flash in Gina's eyes but she smiled.

"I think that would be great, it would give the girls a chance to bound," Gina said looking at me. I gave my best fake smile and nodded. Something tells me I'm going to need that fake smile a lot for the next few months. We walked out to my dad's car and we got in. "So it took some convincing but your father and I was thinking about taking you three shopping to totally redecorate your rooms," She said, excitement clear in her voice. Dang it, if she keeps being this nice it's going to be really hard not to like her. I nodded with a smile. We drove to several stores and delivers took back what we bought and Gina had a personal decorator there to put everything together.

My mouth about dropped when we pulled up to the house. Wait, house wasn't the right word, mansion fits better. "Home sweet home," Gina said stepping out of the car. Roxy and Riley's mouths were gapped wide open.

"Come on," I said. The kids ran inside and I followed walking to my bedroom.

I actually smiled a bit when I entered my room. I went with a dark purple and black victorian theme room. I slowly sat on the queen sizes bed and laid back looking up at my ceiling that had a forest night sky on it. It was like I was laying on the forest floor at night and somehow the stars actually twinkled. I smiled for real for the first time that day.

"I figured you would like that," My father said at the door. I nodded. He plopped down beside me and I laughed. "Thank you for behaving today and keeping the twins under control," He said. I nodded. "Just give Gina a chance," He begged looking at me. I nodded. He kissed my forehead and walked out. I sighed and looked back up at the ceiling and my eyes slowly closed.
