The Awakening

The past two months has past by slowly. Good news is that my sister and I are growing closer and the twins have started to except Gina as a motherly figure. My father is happier then ever and I have two amazing best friends. Bad news, Tyler Holland. It seems to be the same cycle with us every single day. Got to lunch, have a glaring contest and then forget that the other excist, at least he seems to be able to do that last part. I can't seem to keep my mind off him and it drives me insane. There is also his overprotective ex Missy who looks like she wants to throw me down a never ending whole and listen to me scream for eternity.

I sighed as I put down my latest read, Defiance by C. J. Redwine. Not even reading could lift my mood. It was Friday afternoon and I was bored. "Mom! I'm heading out!" Liz yelled as she appeared in the living room. She obviously had a party to go to as she was dressed in a sparkly gold crop top and black shirt. Her golden hair was pulled into a bun and she wore black eye makeup and pink lip gloss. She looked at me and I waved saying bye. She walked towards the door and I put my face back into my book. All of a sudden I heard a sign. I looked up to see Liz looking at me. "Want to come?" She asked.

"You have no idea," I said as I ran upstairs to get ready. I searched throw my closet looking for something to wear to a party. I settled for a stylish jean skirt with a sparkly silver tank top, a black leather jacket and black high heels. I put my hair in loss waves and did just a bit of makeup. I walked down the stairs. "Dad! I'm going with Liz!" I called.

"Have fun you two! Be back by one!" Gina called. We walked out to Liz's black mustang.

"Question," I said after we got in. Liz looked over at me. "Does all your friends own black cars?" I asked putting on the seat belt.

"Yeah, it's part of the boxing thing," Liz said pulling out of the driveway. "So," She said.

"So?" I asked.

"What's going on between you and Tyler?" She asked but it wasn't like a best friend asking about one's latest crush. It was more in the tone of 'I want you to stay away from him and you shouldn't be going near him'. I let out a laugh.

"Nothing. I'm pretty sure he hates me for some unknown reason," I said looking out the windshield. Liz gave a nod. "So where are we going?" I asked.

"A club called Hearts," She said and I looked at her wide-eyed. I'm so not old enough to go to a club. She rolled her eyes. "It's a teen-friendly club. Tyler and Ryn's dads turned it into one about five years ago. It's very popular around here," Liz explained. I nodded but my mouth dropped when I saw the club and the line of people waiting to get in. Liz pulled next into a spot next to other black cars with a sign in front that said 'Reserved for S's'. I frowned slightly as I tried to figure out what S's meant. I quickly hopped out when I notice Liz was out and followed her past the line of people. "Liz," She said and the bouncer instantly moved the red rope. People glared and booed but we walked right in. The first thing that hit me was the blaring music and then the smells. Anything from perfume to sweat and then food.

"Isabella!" A voice yelled. I looked to see Lilly running over. I smiled, happy to see a friendly face. "Oh, my word! I had no idea you were into clubs or I so would have invited you sooner!" She yelled to be heard above the music. Lilly had on a white tight fitting dress with her blond hair in a long braid. "You look amazing by the way," she said.

"You too," I said with a smile. She pulled me over to get some food. We sat eating and talking till I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stick up and I shifted my shoulders uncomfortably. I turned looking throw the crowd only to meet a pair of glow violet eyes. Really? He just had to be here. Missy was hanging onto his shoulders chatting away but his eyes remained on me. I cleared my throat and turned back around to Lilly who was still talking about her and Ryn's latest date. Said man came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.

"Come dance with me," He whispered to her. Lilly looked at me to ask if it was okay.

"Go! Please, I'll be fine here," I said with a smile. She nodded and took Ryn's hand as he led her to the dance floor. I smiled at the two before facing my burger again.

"Hey babe," A guy said walking up to sit next to more. I looked at him. He must have been around eighteen. He wasn't awful looking but he wasn't a model either. "I don't think I've ever seen you around here before," He said with a creepy smile. Jerk, he only wanted one thing and there's no way that was happening. I just looked away hoping that if I ignored him, he would leave. "Come on babe," He said putting his arm around my shoulder. I went to push it away but all of a sudden I was jerked back. I yelped a bit in surprise as my back met a hard chest and I heard a slight growl from behind me.

"Keep your hands off her," A deep voice growled. I was about to say that I could take care of myself but my mouth dried up when I looked to see who had pulled me away from the creep. Tyler Holland stud there with his arms wrapped tightly around my waist. His jaw was clenched and his whole body was tense. I looked between the two men and Tyler could take this guy any day.

"S-Sorry man didn't know she was spoken for," The guy said and quickly walked off. Tyler growled lowly as he looked at me.

"What was that?" He hissed out. My own anger surfaced.

"What was what?" I asked back with a bit of attitude. He snarled a bit and turned me so that I was facing him but kept his hands locked on my hips as if he was worried I would run. Well, I was never one to back down so he was going to half to get a lot scary for that to happen.

"That guy hanging all over you and you letting him," Tyler growled as violet eyes flashed with... anger maybe. I wasn't sure.

"Why do you care?" I asked back. He snarled.

"You don't question me," He growled lowly.

"You're not in charge of me," I growled back. He whole body was tense. We held glares for a second.

"Fine," He growled throw clenched teeth. "Let's dance," He pulled me to the dance floor before I had the chance to object. He wrapped his strong arms around me and pulled me into a muscular chest. I could have backed away but instead, I wrapped my arms around his neck. We swayed slowly until I laid my head on his chest just trying to relax. He started to gently pull the ends of my hair and twisting them around his fingers as his body slowly untensed. "That man," Tyler started and I rolled my eyes. This again, really? "He made you feel uncomfortable," Tyler muttered. A statement, not a question.

"How did you know?" I asked.

"I...I don't know, I just knew," He muttered. I just left it at that. Maybe it showed on my face.
