-Flashback begins-
Third-person POV
"You have to give her up, Niklaus," Elijah Mikaelson said sadly looking down at the sleeping baby in his younger brothers arms.
"No I can't," Niklaus said starting to cry.
"It's to protect her, brother," Kol said.
"I can't, not my baby girl," He said sitting down on the ground.
"What if Mikael finds her?" Rebekah asked him.
"He won't," Niklaus said.
"Yes he will. You need to give her up. It's for her protection," Elijah said.
"But then I won't be able to see her grow," Niklaus said bawling his eyes out.
"We know this hurts you brother, it hurts us as well. This could save her from having a life full of running and being terrified. She won't have to constantly look over her shoulder in fear of Mikael," Rebekah said crouching down in front of her big brother.
"Please don't make me," Niklaus begged his siblings.
"I'm sorry Nik but you're giving up the baby," Elijah demanded.
Niklaus started crying harder and louder by the second.
"Rebekah, Kol please," He begged.
"I'm sorry brother but Elijah is right," Kol said.
Rebekah looked down as she nodded in agreement. Niklaus looked down at his beautiful baby girl sleeping peacefully in his arms. He placed his head on her tiny, soft head. There he kissed her tiny head. Rebekah asked to hold her and Niklaus slowly handed her over. He covered his face and sobbed. Rebekah looked at her baby niece in her arms. She started crying and kissed her cheek. A tear fell onto the babies head. She handed her niece to Elijah. He gently took her into his arms. Tears were rolling down his cheeks as he softly kissed her tiny nose. He looked at his younger brother who was on the ground crying his eyes out. Rebekah was hugging him tightly and whispering things to him. He just shook his head and cried harder. Elijah looked at Kol to see him looking at the baby. He started crying and held his arms out. Elijah carefully placed their niece into his arms. Kol smiled down at the baby and gently took her tiny, tiny hand into his. He bent down and placed a soft kiss on it. He smiled and sat down on the ground. Niklaus looked up and saw his baby girl. He looked at Kol and Kol nodded still crying and smiling. Elijah sat beside his siblings and looked at his niece.
"What's her name brother?" Rebekah asked.
"Rosaleen Mae Mikaelson," He said quietly.
"That's beautiful Niklaus," Elijah said.
Kol nodded his head in agreement. Niklaus looked at Kol then his baby, she was still in Kol's arms. Kol saw and held Rosaleen out to his older brother. Niklaus gently took his baby into his arms. His eyes filled with tears as he thought about not watching her grow up and becoming a woman. Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah also thought about that and they cried as one together. Niklaus hugged his baby girl tightly but at the same time gently. Rebekah hugged them, then Kol, and lastly Elijah wrapped his arms around his siblings and niece.
"Gracie-Mae would be very proud of you brother," Elijah said.
Niklaus cried even more remembering his dead lover and mother of his daughter. Rebekah left to get a basket and a bunch of blankets. She returned to find them all staring at the baby in Niklaus's arms.
"Niklaus it's time," She said gaining their attention.
Niklaus nodded and very slowly stood up. He had her place the basket on the ground. He got to his knees and placed her into the basket. He covered her up with the soft, warm blankets his little sister brought. He sat there for almost an hour when he finally stood up. He picked up the delicate basket and walked to one of the "founding" families house. He chose the Salvatore's since they didn't have any children yet. All the Mikaelson's walked up the driveway and to the porch. Niklaus gently set the basket down and bent to kiss her delicate head one last time. He stood up and rung the doorbell. They all flashed away but not before each of them looked at Rosaleen Mae Mikaelson once more. Niklaus had Rebekah write a letter and he put it beside her in the basket. Rosaleen started crying and Niklaus froze and looked back at her. He started crying and tried to get to her but Elijah and Kol stopped him.
"No brother," Kol said.
"But she's crying," Niklaus cried.
Just then the door opened to show a beautiful woman with long dark black hair and green eyes. She looked down and gasped. She quickly took basket and looked around before going back inside with Niklaus's baby girl.
-Flashback ends-Rosaleen's POV
I opened my eyes and saw Klaus/Alaric crying. I started crying and fell to the ground. I placed my head into my hands. I felt a pair of arms go around me and instantly knew it was Klaus. I looked up at him and he was crying.
"Daddy," I said.
He nodded as tears rushed down his face.
"My sweet Rosaleen Mae Mikaelson," He said kissing my head.
I threw my arms around him and he held me tightly.
"I'm so sorry, baby girl," He cried.
I nodded.
"I never wanted to give you up. You know that now. Please don't hate me for it." He begged.
"Never," I whispered.
He looked at me and took my face into his hands.
"You have your mothers hair and my eyes," He says.
He leans his forehead against mine. I close my eyes and sink into the warmth of my father.
"When are you getting your real body back?" I ask.
"Soon, very soon, Sweety," He says quietly.
"Good," I said.
I placed my head on his shoulder and crawled onto his lap. He held me against him and I closed my eyes. I fell asleep in my fathers arms.Katherine's POV
I started crying for them but held my hand over my mouth. Klaus had to give up his baby girl just like I did. I never knew that Klaus had a daughter and she was beautiful. She was strong, I could tell. She had the family of fighters and survivors.
