"Paati! Paati!" Priya ran into Paati's house which was situated right opposite to the hostel. She noticed that the house was decorated and many sweets were placed on the table. "Wow. I never expected Paati to do all these for me," Priya reached for her favourite laddu when someone slapped her hand, "Ouch! Paati!" "What Paati?" Paati placed her hands on her hip, "don't touch anything until I take off the dhrishti (evil eyes)." "Oh Paati," Priya hugged Paati tightly, "I didn't know you loved me so much." Paati was confused, "What does dhrishti have to do with you?"

Priya immediately broke the hug, "So then this wasn't for me for getting an entrance into Shridhar sir's own hospital?" "Will anyone celebrate for getting admitted into a hospital?" Paati bursted out laughing. "I didn't get an entrance as a patient, I got entrance as a trainee," Priya looked annoyed and turned around to leave. "Oh congrats dear," Paati tried to console. "No, I can't tolerate this anymore, I'm leaving," Priya walked slowly towards the door and seeing no response from Paati, she immediately turned around.

Paati was busy arranging more sweets on the table. "Paati! You're not at all bothered that I'm leaving," Priya was angry. "You leave if you wish, I have no time to talk to you now. My grandson is on the way from US. I have to prepare everything on time," Paati reached for another plate. "So your grandson is more important to you than me?" Priya questioned. "Of course," Paati answered coolly, "After all he's my one and only grandson." Priya felt a tinge of jealousy. She looked around for revenge and spotted the plate full of laddus. She quickly grabbed a handful of laddus and ran out of the house. "Priya! Stop!" Paati ran behind her in vain and stopped near the door, smiling at Priya's playfulness.

On reaching her hostel, Priya saw a small boy begging for food. She gave the laddus to him. "Thanks Akka," the boy replied with a grateful smile. Priya patted his head and walked to her room to get ready for Paati's dinner party. She wore a pink churidhar and applied some light make-up. When she was about to enter Paati's house, Priya noticed Paati staring at her with her mouth wide open, amazed at her beauty. Priya raised both her eyebrows at Paati and gestured her to close her mouth. Smiling, Priya walked towards Paati, "I know I look gorgeous." "Who said I was looking at you?" Paati smirked, "I was looking at those cute guys behind you." Priya turned around and saw a few young guys chit-chatting on the road. "Paati!" She frowned, "What happened to your culture? What happened to your discipline? You've become so corrupted. Who will answer your grandson now?" "I will look after that," Paati winked.

Before Priya could say anymore to carry on with this playful argument, there was a noise of a car which stopped right in front of the house. Paati immediately knew that it was her grandson, "Fire the crackers! Fire the crackers! My grandson is here!" The so-called grandson stepped out of the car, but Priya couldn't see him clearly due to the smoke from the crackers. When the smoke cleared, she saw his face. For a moment she felt that she hadn't seen him before, but when the guy looked intensely into her eyes, she knew that he had been a part of her life before.
