jason and i talked about plans and what could go wrongs for the rest of the day. i didn't realize how late it was when i saw the sun going down and the moon coming out. can't believe we spent all day bonding and hopefully not pretending we liked each other.

hated to admit it but, i think i was starting to like jason, and not as a friend. maybe as like more than that, like in a boyfriend-girlfriend way. i didn't have the guts to admit that to jason because he would more than likely shut down and laugh in my face.

i've already dealt with enough embarrassment from him. i continued twirling his hair in between my fingers and talking. i said something that was very important and i expected a response from him but, i didn't receive one.

"hello? are you even listening?" i questioned. no response. "jason!"

"yeah, yeah, that's nice. can you let me sleep in peace, please?" he replied quietly. "i'm tired as hell and i have a big day tomorrow."

"were you even listening to me for the past fifteen minutes?" i continued.

"please, i don't want to argue. i just want to sleep."

fine by me. i dropped the argument and relaxed my body. i removed my hands from jason's caramel colored locks and crossed them across my chest. jason's hands shot up and grabbed a hold my hand and put them back where they were.

i smiled to myself at the action and left my hand there. i let my other hand rest on my stomach and i soon dozed off.

i woke up startled by the sound of something dropping. i felt a weight on my leg and i realized that jason was still there, sleeping—drooling to be exact. he looked way to peaceful to wake up so, i sucked it up and dealt with it.

i was still left unsettled by whatever dropped and i wanted to go investigate. it would be impossible to get this sleeping giant off of me without waking him up but, it didn't hurt to try.

i slowly pried jason's fingers of the death grip he had on my legs. he shuffled a little before going back to snoring his night away. i started moving leg away from him and he stirred more in his sleep. please don't let him wake up.

my prayers were answered when he still lied sound asleep. wow, i should be a burglar with all this agility i have. i cautiously pushed myself up off the bed, careful not to put too much weight on my shoulder and to not wake jason up.

i crept across the room to the door, swinging it open in case it was one of those doors that squeak. i never understood why people opened doors so slowly in movies. if that door was noisy as hell, why continue to open it like a sloth? you're better off just swinging it open and calling it a day.

i looked down the hallway in both directions and saw no one. i walked out the room, leaving the door open and crept about. if this doctor has security cameras, he's probably watching the footage wondering what the hell i'm doing.

i took notice at the fact this place actually looked like a little clinic, like those walk in ones. i also noticed that i was the only patient here. must not have many customers. i continued wandering about until i heard talking in a room.

curiosity got the best of me and i began investigating the talking. i put my ear to the slightly ajar door and kept quiet, listening.

"they're right where we need them."

"jason trusts the doctor so obviously he'd come here. but tell us, to what extent is the girl's damage?"

"non life threatening. she'll survive."

"jackson should get better aim. aim for something more serious next time."

"the two of them are asleep right now. it's the perfect opportunity, kill them once and for all."

kill us? what did we do?

"we have everything we need. we have the kid, everything's in order. just to execute them."

"do it tonight. they're going to leave in the morning in search of jason's kid."

"give it like an hour or so. they fell asleep not too long ago."

"an hour? i'll give it ten minutes and that's it."

"fine."

yeah buddy, i don't think so. now that i'm thinking, those voices sound awfully familiar. it was just to figure out where i've heard them before. i replayed the many different moments a male spoke and only one triggered my memory.

they were the guys that i eavesdropped on! of course, how did i not know! why were they planning on killing jason and i? questions upon questions with no answers. i needed to get out of this alive so, i sped walked back to the room.

jason was in the same sport i left him. i closed and locked the door behind me, pressing my back against. i better move before the doctor comes to check up on me. i ran over to jason and began shaking his body violently.

"fuck off," he grumbled, swatting my hands away.

"jason, wake up. it's an emergency." i said.

that did the trick. his eyes shot open and he quickly sat up. "what happened? why are you up?"

"no time to talk, my friend. we have to get out of here."

"what, why? rhodes, go back to sleep." he groaned, lying back against the bed.

"jason, get the hell up. we have to go. someone is here to kill us."

"kill us? aly, we're safe here. just shut up and go back to sleep." he said.

can't this kid ever listen? i mustered up the strength i had in my body and pushed jason off the bed. he fell with a loud thud.

"are you fucking kidding me, aly? what the fu--"

i ran over to the other side and clamped my hand over his mouth. he looked up at me in confusion and continued talking even though my hand was covering his mouth.

"stop talking so loud idiot." i hissed out in a quiet tone. "you're going to give away the fact we're up."

he stopped talking almost quickly. i listened outside to see if anyone heard us and no one did. "for someone who has been in the game longer than me, you act stupid. if i say there's no time to talk, there's none. and you talk so damn much, like do you know when to shut up? anyways, we're leaving because there are two guys here who want to kill us very bad. if we don't move, we're dead."

jason moved my hand from his mouth. "then why are we here still talking? let's move."
