I felt myself smile as Kelsie’s head rested on my lap. She was sound asleep and she looked so peaceful. We were heading back to Evermore and I was terrified. Over the break I had seen Waverly and she looked crushed to see that I was actually with Kelsie. I liked Kelsie, a lot actually. It was odd though how we actually started dating. I wanted to start dating on my own terms, not my brother’s. There was no turning back now…only four more months until I would be eighteen. And then there would be no more pain for me. I would see my mate and then set out to find her. I would never be alone ever again. I wasn’t alone now, but sometimes I felt that way. I mean yeah Kelsie was always there for me, but I just couldn’t bring myself to tell her everything. Not yet anyways.

“Tell me something Ry, how does it feel to have your first girlfriend?” Lynden chuckled breaking away from Poppy. I was slightly disappointed when I found out that she was Lynden’s mate.

“It feels pretty nice actually. Mother and Father seem to be okay with her as well.” I shrugged looking down at her. She was exhausted from the other day. I had taken her to the festival for the day and then took her to this secret hot spring I knew about. She absolutely loved it. Come to find out she loved swimming. She said it had to do with the fact that she grew up with the beach in her backyard.

“Fuck them.” He chuckled pulling out his pipe. He was going to get high. Great.

“Look what Poppy and Kelsie got me.” Lynden beamed showing off his new pipe. It was the Cookie Monster.

“Cool.” I shrugged.

“Want to get high?” He chuckled packing a bowl.

“No.”

“Ever smoked before? Wait, stupid question. Of course you haven’t ever smoked before. Come on bro. Live a little.” He begged waving the pipe around in my face. Peer pressure. Something I was horrid at dealing with.

“Lynden.” I groaned.

“Just one hit. For me.” He begged. I only let out a groan before snatching it out of his hands.

“Do you-”

“Yes, I’m not stupid.” I barked taking a hit.

“If you ain’t chocking you ain’t toking. Take another until I say to stop.” Lynden beamed with excitement. I only rolled my eyes before doing what he asked.

“Hey Ryden.” Kelsie giggled looking at me as she opened up the door to her dorm room.

“Hey.” I said giving her a nervous smile before she yanked me in. She was in such a good mood today.

“I’ll be ready in like five minutes. I need to go grab my shoes.” She smiled looking at her bare feet before she took off towards her room. I only shrugged before taking a seat at her bar and began flipping through a magazine that was sitting there. She has been in there for longer than five minutes. Geez, women. One thing I liked about Waverly was that she never took long to get ready. Yeah, we never dated but I always took her places.

“Hey.” I heard a small whisper coming from the hallway. I spun around expecting Kelsie but to only see Waverly. She was in one of my old shirts I had given to her so long ago. She looked so depressed and crushed.

“Hey.” I said giving her a sad smile while looking at my hands.

“So it’s for real then?” She whimpered coming closer to me. I couldn’t help but to step back with each step she took. I only nodded before looking up to meet her eyes. She loved me, even after everything she still loved me. I loved her too. I always would.

“Yeah it is.” I nodded. Just then she was in front of me and her lips were hungrily attacking mine. I couldn’t help but to kiss her back with just as much passion. Her lips felt like ice on my fiery ones. My hands were suddenly all over her as I lifted her onto the counter never breaking the kiss. I had missed this. Missed everything I had shared with Waverly. Her body pressed up against mine just felt so right. I’m not going to lie but kissing Waverly beat Kelsie by a long shot. Maybe it was because I was still madly in love with Waverly.

“You bitch!” Kelsie cried out. Waverly and I broke apart quickly before my eyes landed on Kelsie. She had tears streaming down her face causing her makeup to run. She looked stunning in her gold shimmering dress that matched her heels. Her hair hung in though natural curls. I couldn’t help but to take a step towards her causing her to take a step back.

“Get out. Get out of my dorm Ryden. You are just like your brothers.” She cried before running back towards her room. I hurt her and that hurt me. Kelsie was such an upbeat person and to see her sad was foreign to me.

“Kelsie.” I called.

“Don’t touch me Ryden Moss. Get your ass out of my dorm before I call security. And for you Waverly…you’ll have a new roommate by the end of the night.” She cried trying to hide her tears.

“Kelsie I’m so sorry.” I whispered brushing away one of her tears. She instantly cringed away from my touch before she shoved me and slammed the door in my face. Great. I let out a groan before I trudged towards the door.

“Ryden…” Waverly whispered looking at me.

“Not now Waverly.” I said waving her away. She only grabbed my hand and pulled me into her. I wanted to be alone, but I couldn’t seem to break away from Waverly’s familiar grasp.

“I’m sorry. I just couldn’t help myself. I love you.” She whispered looking up at me.

“I love you too.” I sighed. Did I love her? Wait, what kind of question is that? Of course I did.
