The crisp, autumn air nipped at my cheeks as I slowly trudged towards the fountain where my brothers and I always met up at. Lynden was still at band practice, and Camden was still in wrestling, but I enjoyed my alone time. Just because we were triplets didn’t mean we were always glued at the hip. I love my brothers, don’t get me wrong, but they tend to annoy me sometimes. Lynden with his loud, outgoing self, and Camden with his dark, bad ass self. And here I was…the quiet, shy, pretty boy. Yes, we were an odd group, but we were siblings. Our family was close, we told each other everything.

“Hey Ryden.” Kelsie smiled sliding up next to me. Her golden blonde hair always seemed to hang in the most beautiful curls I had ever seen. I’m not going to lie, Kelsie was beautiful, but she was wild. She had secrets, just like everyone else here, but she didn’t try to hide them.

“Hey Kelsie. You aren’t glued to Craven’s side?” I chuckled looking down at my hands. I wasn’t really good at speaking with girls. That trait must have skipped me when my mother became pregnant with me and my brothers.

“Craven? Geez, I couldn’t wait to get away from her. She is such a bitch to all of us.” She groaned letting her head fall on my shoulder. I instantly stiffened. I never really made contact with girls. I was too nervous.

“Then why are you always hanging out with her?” I asked looking at her. Her piercing blue eyes locked with mine and suddenly I was lost. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe.

“Ryden? Ryden, are you okay?” Kelsie said with concern filling her eyes. Suddenly I was snapped out of my trance and I realized that I was staring off into space.

“Yeah, I’m fine. My mind was just wandering.” I shrugged giving her a warm smile.

“Okay good, don’t want anything bad happening to you.” She smiled ruffling my hair.

“What is that supposed to mean?” I growled. Why did everyone think I couldn’t take care of myself?

“Nothing Ryden. I have to get going, but I will see you in training.” she said giving me a bright smile before running off towards Jamie and Hazel. What was up with those girls? They used to pretty much throw themselves at my feet begging me to have sex with them, and now they have backed off. This was odd for them.

“Hey bro.” Camden chuckled sliding next to me in nothing but a pair of gym shorts.

“Geez, show off much?” I chuckled shaking my head causing my hair to get slightly messed up.

“At least my body looks better than yours, wimp.” Camden jeered lightly shoving me.

“Really? Last time I checked, I could still take you down easily.” I snorted.

“Prove it pretty boy.” He said as his green eyes gleamed with the thought of a challenge. I only shook my head once more before tackling him to the ground. We grappled for about fifteen minutes before Lynden broke us apart.

“Geez, they are going to call Dean Roger on you two. I seriously wonder how I am related to you Neanderthals.” Lynden faked gasped.

“Whatever. Let’s just get to the field.” I smiled fixing my shirt and hair.

“Aw, I messed up Ryden’s pretty boy hair.” Camden chuckled ruffling my hair as we made our way to the field.

By the time we got there everyone was pretty much dressed out. Camden gave Lynden and me a small smile before he ran over towards his wrestling friends. I quickly ran into the locker rooms and changed out before making my way back to the field. Everyone was gone, so I take it they went on a run through the woods. I slipped in my head phones and took off towards the nature trail and let my feet fall into the rhythm of my music. Running came natural to me. I loved to run; it was the one thing I could loose myself in. I used to be on the track, cross country, and the soccer team. I dropped everything last summer though; I just couldn’t juggle everything any longer. Yeah, my family was upset with me because our who family participated in sports or other activities. They easily accepted the fact that I wanted to focus on school and get into a nice college based on my knowledge. I know that sounds stupid, but I shouldn’t get a scholarship for something I didn’t have to work for when people around the world are struggling to get those scholarships.
