Kelsie Rebar

Three months went by since Craven and Jamie went off the deep end. I haven’t seen Ryden since then either. Rumors were flying around the school that he was caught making out with Craven in a janitor’s closet. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was. I had seen Waverly a couple of times, but she was always in such a hurry that I never got a chance to talk to her. Arianna and Hazel had pretty much dropped out of the games. Arianna was content with just being one of Ryden’s close friends. I saw Lynden and Camden every now and then, but they always just gave me a sad smile before they would scurry off to where ever Ryden was. My heart ached for unknown reasons. I needed Ryden. Something was drawing me to him. With my birthday only a couple days away, I couldn’t help but to feel more alone than ever. Poppy was always with Lynden, and Lynden was always with Ryden or Camden. If he was with Camden then Ryden wouldn’t be too far from them. Craven and Jamie had did a number on my face. I had a black eye, busted lip, cracked skull, my cheek had a huge cut on it, and my body was covered in bruises. No one asked questions when the saw me, the most likely already knew what had happened. My face was finally clear but I did have a nice scar on my cheek. Scar cream couldn’t even get rid of that scar.

I walked towards the field feeling every eye on me. That’s how I felt most days. Someone was always watching me, waiting for me to just mess up. I let my hair shield me from all the stars as I quickly headed into the girl’s locker room to dress out.

“Did you hear? Ryden almost slept with Jamie DeMose at one of Lynden’s gig. I guess Lynden and Camden are angry with him because she isn’t his mate. How could he do that? I mean he knows who is mate is.” A girl gushed to some little freshman as we all changed. I was the last one out like usual. What had they turned him into? He was becoming just like Camden. Possibly worse than Camden could ever be. At least he still had his virginity. That was a good thing.

“Rebar!” The coach screamed breaking me from my train of thought. I only let out a yawn before heading out on to the field. We were going running today. People who were over eighteen were able to go on a pack run. I wish I could go. My wolf was so eager to break free.

“Kelsie.” Camden whispered grabbing me by my arm and yanking me to the side of the locker rooms.

“Yes?” I growled glaring at him. Camden looked so much different now. His like green eyes seemed to glow and his once short hair had been buzzed off. His muscles looked more defined and he seemed to walk with a certain grace. He was built to be a leader. He was a true alpha. A poster image alpha almost.

“I need to talk to you.” He said slightly frightened.

“Then talk.” I snorted.

“Not here. Meet me at my dorm in fifteen minutes. Coach won’t notice if we are missing.”

“Cam…”

“Please, it is important.” He groaned. I only nodded before heading back into the locker rooms to gather my things. What was so important that no one could see us talking about?

I walked into Camden’s dorm to be smacked in the face with Ryden’s scent. He smelled like the ocean. I shook my head of all thoughts of him as I headed towards Camden’s room. I had been there before on many drunken nights. He never took advantage of me though. Once I got to his room I heard something shatter before the door opened.

“Hey.” I smirked.

“Come in. Excuse the mess.” He sighed. His room was spotless except for the broken lamp that laid in the corner. Had he thrown it?

“What did you want to talk about?” I said taking a seat on his huge bed. It was like heaven.

“It’s about Ryden.”
