I felt tears stream down my pale cheeks as I held onto her lifeless hand. It’s been about a week since everything happened. No one knows exactly what to do. The have never had to deal with something like this. No wolf has ever eaten Wolfsbane. We knew how deadly it was too us, especially the wolves that haven’t had their first turn yet. Was this my fault? Had me cheating on her brought her to this? I couldn’t know unless she would wake up. The doctors said she could wake up any day now, but each day is the same. She never wakes up. She just lays there cold and lifeless. They have gotten most of the Wolfsbane out, but there is still a small bit that is in her bloodstream. They say that her white blood cells will kill it off, but they don’t know for sure. How could they not know? These were the best of the best doctors. I made sure of it.

“Ry.” My mother’s voice whispered coming near me. I snapped at her out of reflex causing her to scurry away.

“Ryden.” My father barked glaring down at me. I only let a low snarl ripple through my chest as I stared intently into his deep green eyes. He was angry, but I didn’t care. I didn’t care that I almost bit off my mother’s hand or care that I had frightened her to death. She knew not to come near me. I didn’t want anyone near me.

“Stop acting so hostile. You are an alpha…I recommend you start acting like one.” He snorted before taking my mother and stalking out. I was acting like an alpha. I was protecting my mate. No one would get close to her. I wouldn’t allow it. She was mine.

“Ryden.” Lynden yawned walking in with Poppy glued to his side.

“How is she?” Poppy said giving me a weak smile as she took a seat next to me. I fought the urge to kill her. Poppy was Kelsie’s older sister. She had a right to be here.

“The same as yesterday.” I whispered in defeat. Why couldn’t she wake up?

“She’ll come around Ry. She can hear and feel us. She knows you love her.” She whispered placing her hand over mine. I only cringed away glaring at her.

“Pop, we need to get going. My father has a car waiting on us.” Lynden sighed running a hand through his hair. They were going to Jamaica for spring break. Camden was going to stay here and watch over Evie and I. I just think he agreed to because he didn’t feel like being stuck in Jamaica with my parents. Or it could be because Evie was here.

“Okay. You call us if anything happens. I mean anything.” Poppy said pointing a finger at me. I only nodded before watching her walk out leaving Lynden and I.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered.

“Its not your fault.” I shrugged.

“Kelsie wouldn’t do this to herself.” He grumbled before leaving. If she didn’t do it then who did? Would someone seriously try and murder Kelsie? Why? She was so sweet. She was always happy and nice to everyone. Even when she was part of the Bitch Crew.

“Please wake up Kelsie.” I whimpered. Why wasn’t her wolf healing her?

“Ryden?” Jamie whispered slowly creeping into the room. She looked like a complete wreck.

“What do you want?” I snapped glaring at her. She knew I didn’t want anyone in here. She had also woken me up.

“I need to talk to you. It’s about Kelsie.” She whimpered wiping away a few fallen tears.

“What?” I sighed.

“I think we might want to step out. I don’t want Kelsie hearing. I don’t want her to hate me for telling you this.”
