"Hmm nope."
"This one?"
"Nope."
"This?"
"Definitely not."
"Ugh what about this one?"
"Jesus Uriah did you get that when you were five?"
I sighed. Marlene had been trying to help me figure out what to wear for the past half-hour, and we weren't getting anywhere.
"Why don't you just wear that suit over there?"
I followed her finger to the suit I bought for my cousins wedding, and shook my head.
"Well why not!?" She huffed.
"Because we're eating pizza Mar. Pizza! It's not technically a date, and I don't want to show up looking like a penguin while she's in jeans and a shirt."
She blew a piece of hair out of her face.
"Ok move." She stood up from her spot on the bed and came over to me. I moved out of her way as she started going through my closet.
After about five minutes she turned around. "Ok. I'm going to work with what I have, which isn't much, and you," she jabbed her finger at my chest. "are going shopping with me later to find some decent clothes."
"Ahhh why!?!" I said as I fell back on my bed and put a pillow over my face.
"Because all these clothes were bought at least three years ago!"
"So!? They fit, they're fine." I said as I sat up.
Maybe bringing Marlene in wasn't such a good idea.
Well it was either her or Lynn, and you have more fashion sense than Lynn.
Eh good point.
She ran her hand through her dark hair. "Jesus you're worse than a 12 year old." She muttered.
I grin at her. "12 and a half." I correct.
"Fine you're worse than a 12 and a half year old. Now go put this on." She threw a black shirt with gray pinstripes on it.
I raise my eyebrow at her. "Why not just a black shirt?"
She let out a exasperated sigh. "Because Tris is from Abnegation. I don't know! It's different from the black shirt you usually wear. Just put it on."
I shrugged and took off my shirt, throwing the new one on.
"Not in front of me you asshole!" She yelled as she threw a pillow at me.
"Well you didn't say that!" I said as I threw it back at her.
She rolled her eyes at me. "Whatever. Just go pick up your date." She started shoving me towards the door.
"It's not a date!" I said over my shoulder.
"Yeah but we all know that's what you want it to be." With that she shuts the door in my face.
Seems like I've been hearing that a lot lately.
Forget that dude! You just got shoved out of your apartment!
So? Marlene's like my best friend. It's happened before. She'll be gone before we get back.
Yeah. Then you and Tris can get it on!
We're not doing that! We're going to take this slow!
Yeah but we all know you want to go fast.
