Chapter Nine: "Her date?"

On the way to the restaurant or whatever place kung saan ang dinner place na dadalhin ako ni Devon. All I thought was, "Oh Lord so help me get away from this." kasi yun talaga. Ayoko naman kasi talagang mabuhat ni Devon papasok sa kotse niya para lang makasama ako.
I don't want to make an embarrassing scene of myself and the owner of one of the biggest empires in the world. Mamaya a few hours later it'll be in the cover of every magazine, or news article. Kahit tabloids! Just no. I'd rather go on a dinner date with this person rather than seeing my face plastered in every article that ever existed.
And I think I still owe him since I left him sa Cebu yesterday.
"Anything interesting happen in work today?" tanong niya sakin breaking the silence between us and while he kept his eyes on the road.
"Nothing much. How about yours?" sagot ko continuing the conversation. Somehow I felt like I needed to talk to him. Usually I don't keep conversations going kasi I keep things to myself nalang minsan and let everything go with the flow Pero as if my instincts controlled me to continue with this conversation with him.
"Well, nothing exciting but tomorrow I'll be going to France and the day after that I'll be meeting someone at Puerto Rico." sagot niya. Edi sasakay nanaman to ng eroplano at baka mag-hyperventilate? Nako. Paano kaya nakakaya ng staffs niya yun na icontrol Siya?
"Kaya mo?" I asked him with a tone na nagaalala.
"What do you mean Eleanor?"
"I mean, kaya mong icontrol ang sarili mong Hindi mag-panic? Mag-hyperventilate?" I explained.
"Kakayanin ko. But if I don't then, mahihimatay lang naman ako I think that'll be better than seeing my staffs worry about me all the time. But thanks for asking." Sagot niya sakin.
May point naman Siya Pero it's still worries me that he has panic attacks when he rides planes. Couldn't he just stop meeting people internationally, And let them adjust themselves to meet him personally?
I know he does this for his empire Pero sana isipin niya rin sarili niya minsan. Kung Hindi man lagi, Edi kahit minsan. Hayst.
Hindi na ako nagsalita pa at kinuha ko nalang phone ko sa sling bag ko at yung earphones ko para kapag magdadada man tong si Devon Hindi ko maririnig.
Hindi nagtagal nakarating kami sa isang Lugar kung saan halata na walang kung anumang building or structure sa paligid. I looked outside and Nakita ko parang nasa isang bundok kami ni Devon and Infront of us was a big mango tree na puno ng nakasabit na mini-lantern at may mga alitaptap din na lumilipad lipad.
