Dolly stepped into James' tent that night. "Hey," She sighed, "That new girl is fascinated by every single thing she sees." James looked at Dolly from his bed. He took a deep breath and then decided not to respond. Te day had been kinda crazy, James didn't now what to say anymore. Dolly walked over and sat on his bed. She was close to him, arms touching.
James finally said something. "I don't know how I did it. If Aaron sent you in here for answers, I don't have them." Dolly smiled.
"He didn't send me in here to get answers, dork." Dolly took his hand. "I just wanted to check on you." James caught himself blushing at the simple contact. They went quite for a little bit. Dolly wanted James to say something now, but Name just wanted to hear Dolly talk.
Dolly mumbled, "Are you scared of fighting the monster?"
About anything than that. Name shrugged. "I don't know anything about the monster except the back story. What are his powers, what is he capable of? That stuff is important, right?" He whined. Dolly nodded. She squeezed his hand.
"He's powerful," She replied. James frowned and fell back onto the bed. She laid next to him.
James argued, "You didn't answer a single question I had. What are his powers? I want to know more about him!" Dolly rolled her eyes.
"Take him out for dinner yourself," she teased, but she did explain, "The monster can change humans into creatures permanently. I was human, Abigail was human, Aaron was surprisingly human. He can also hypnotize those creatures. Like the girl you brought back, he probably hypnotized her just to kill you and Aaron."
"So how come you look human?" James asked. Dolly smiled.
She giggled and asked, "Would you believe me if I said I used to be extremely ugly before I turned back to a human form." James shook his head. She continued, "I was a witch. But I looked so demonic. I had horns and razor sharp teeth and these awful blood covered claws."
James sighed, "I dont believe that for a second." Dolly kissed his cheek.
"And I was still chubby." She scoffed, "That part pissed me off." James frowned. He hesitated, but wrapped an arm around her waist. James waited a moment before moving his head to her neck. He began to give her just soft and gentle pecks. Dolly blushed and closed her eyes.
"You're pretty." James mumbled, "Beautiful really." He really did think so too.
Dolly just seemed to have this glow to her. The way her eyes sparkled like jewels, and how she always wore a smile like it was a mandatory accessory. She had a voice like fire, swallowing up amything trying to go against it. And oh how badly James wanted to burn. At least he thought he did. That was what he was supposed to do right?
James and Dolly seemed to pull away at the same time, both thinking similar things. They still held hands though, but didn't progress further. Dolly mumbled, "That guy's kinda cool. But you do realize everybody's gonna wanna know how you unhypnotized him." James sighed with frustration.
He really didn't know how he did it. James just wanted to help the spider get out and... and then he was suddenly a normal boy. God, why was this happening to him? He was just a normal human being that lived in a village, why was he suddenly having magical powers and shit?!
Dolly asked, "Do you know?" James shook his head and closed his eyes. He needed rest. Getting chased around by a murderous spider is not exactly relaxing. Dolly seemed to understand and closed her eyes too. He squeezed her hand.
"Aaron's gonna bombard you with questions, James." Dolly said. James didn't reply. He was already dozing off and having dreams of the monster.
