Dorm life.

If you're living in a dorm that's a good distance away from your home, bring your warm clothes for the colder weather and light clothing for the warmer weather. Bring plenty of underwear and socks with you and I do mean PLENTY when you're living in a dorm. You're on a budget and you can't simply go to the nearest Primark, Victoria Secret, Target or etc every 4 or 5 days spending on underwear. Also don't let your laundry pile up. You have to learn to use the washing machine and the dryer.

In case your dorm room/dorm building you're staying tends to get really cold during the colder months, I highly recommend using throw blankets, a sleeping bag, snuggies, hot water bottles and reusable microwaveable wheat bags/plushies/mini reusable hand warmers. The hand warmers would be extremely useful if the classroom(s) is ice cold. I learned the hard way on the first day back from Christmas break during my first year.

Take some things that would remind you of home (like pictures) and some decorations (like posters) for your dorm room. Write your name on food containers so that your roommates wouldn't nick them.

Plus you have to know how to make easiest things to cook. Invest on a student cookbook. There are very easy recipes to make. You can't simply survive on breakfast cereal, instant oatmeal, instant noodles and microwavable meals all the time.

Try making some friends while staying there and be wary and on the lookout for legbeards (or female neckbeards) and neckbeards. They are the type people who make you uncomfortable. Neckbeards are.... well... guys who are into geeky things (anime, manga, comics, etc), probably wear a trench coat (optional) and/or fedora/trilby (yet again optional) and they might be sporting a neckbeard. Also they may think they're dating you or you love/have a crush on them even though you don't just because you're being a decent human being by being nice. Legbeards is the female equivalent to neckbeards. Instead of a beard, they don't.... well... you know shave their legs. At all. Believe me, there's stories on Reddit and YouTube that would shock you.

And don't get me started with nice guys and nice girls. Not actual people who are actually nice people, but the people who go yandere or a complete 180 on you and they think that you were leading them on just because you didn't want to date/screw them. Quite similar to the neckbeards and legbeards. You can find stuff on nice guys/girls on YouTube and Reddit.
