Chapter Thirteen

EMERALD

It was a risk calling a meeting in the house right door to Lola's, but this is where Ashley and co decided to set up show much against my annoyance and insistence they move in somewhere just down the street so it didn't look suspicious when I walked in since I was currently possessing Lola's mums body.

Ashley never listened to me, and he had never been one to tow the line. He had known Andy just as long as me, and the two shared a vampire connection I couldn't understand being a witch. Yes, he had been the one to create Andy an army of vampires while I was trapped in a mirror, but it would be me that brought Andy back so therefore I was more important than him.

"How much longer will you be possessing that body, Emerald?" Ashley questions, strolling into the living room and sits down next to Jinxx and Jake.

"Now everyone's here we can get underway. I won't be using this body much longer and Lola will have everything ripped from her like I had."

Everyone talks amongst themselves while Ashley stares at me blankly, unamused at how long this whole process was taking.

"Are you going to tell us how you're going to resurrect Andy?"

I smile in Danny's direction, "I already have the enchantment and we have the skeletal remains of Andy. I just need to drag Lola into purgatory where Andy is, bind their souls, then when we come back I put Andy's soul back into bones and he kills Lola as he'll need blood."

My plan was pretty darn perfect if I was to say so myself.

"What are we doing with Lola's human friends?" Ben asks, smirking from his seat in between Cameron and Sam.

I click my fingers together, "Ben I want you to ramp things up with your toy Denis. Ryan and Lola are close to Vinny who seems a pretty easy target to stir things up."

Ben rubs his hands together, he was one of the more loyal vampires to me.

DENIS

Whichever teacher had decided to give out a shit tonne of homework out on a Friday deserved to rot in the lowest pits of hell, because this was seriously eating into my free time. I hadn't seen Ben all day and I was kind of itching to see him again. Yes he beat me around a bit but I felt warm and safe around him, sometimes love hurts and in this case, I would hurt if it meant he continued to love me.

"Did you miss me cutie?"

I glance up from my textbook to see Ben leaning cockily in the open doorway to my bedroom. I hadn't even heard him knock which he would have had to in order to be let in because my parents were still at work.

"How did you get in?"

Getting up from the bed I approach my boyfriend, the cocky expression never once leaving his lips. Fuck he was hot.

"You don't need to worry about such trivial things anymore. Close your eyes and this will all be over before you know it."

Closing my eyes on instinct, knowing Ben would punish me if I didn't obey him, I wait patiently. What feels like a gust of wind wraps around my body, before something sharp pierces my neck from behind, ripping my eyes open as an intense fire rips through my body. I try to squirm, but Ben has a strong arm wrapped around my waist keeping me in place. What the fuck was happening?

BEN

Denis would wake up any second now, and in order for him to fully transition into a vampire, he'd need to drink human blood. Newborn vampires are very unpredictable and easily manipulated, so if I told Denis to attack and kill Vinny he would. Emerald wanted me to ramp things up and this was me ramping things up.
