The Calm Before The Storm
After suffering through a full day of tedious lessons, Rosella was unsuccessfully tackled by, what she saw as, a fiery mop.
"OMG, guess who was in my last period chemistry?!" Jess squeaked.
"Michael Jackson?" Rosella guessed weakly, showing no interest at all in the fresh conversation between herself and her new found attacker.
"No-" She was still smiling, until she wasn't. "-Wait, he's dead."
"Exactly, if Michael Jackson walked into my last period chemistry class I'd be tackling people in the hall way too." Rosella said, a small smile showing in the corner of her lips.
Her seemingly irritated attitude lifting- as it would any time she finds a way to mess with Jess.
"Funny." Jess deadpanned. "Seriously, guess who!" Her bubbly, excited attitude back.
Rosella opened her mouth to answer, but Jess cut her off. And if she was being honest, it was probably for the best.
"Sam! You know, one of the new twins!"
Rosella felt her stomach lurch downward.
"He's the one with tattoos, right?" Rosella asked innocently, now fully intent on what Jess had to say next.
"Yes! Isn't he just the hottest- Wait how did you know his name?"
"He's in my home room, he sits on the other side of Cam and I." Rosella averted her eyes.
"You lucky bitch! You get to sit beside him?!"
"Not really, no. He's at the other table- and I wouldn't call it luck." Rosella answered, mumbling the last part to herself.
For some reason, she still didn't trust him. Granted she barely knew him but she wasn't sure if she even wanted to.
Jess went on to tell her that Sam sat two seats over from her but they didn't get a chance to talk. Rosella visibly relaxed at the thought.
After that, Rosella began to tune out what Jess was saying- as long as she hadn't actually interacted with him then Rosella wasn't very interested in hearing how hot Jess thought the tattoo on his right bicep that poked out just under sleeve was.
Or how hot his nose ring was.
Or how she thought he must go to the gym at least twice a day because no ones arms could be that big otherwise.
Moral of the story; Jess was smitten, Rosella was not.
"So I invited him-" That captured her attention.
"Wait, What?" Rosella interrupted, trying her best not to sound so frantic.
"I swear you never listen-"
"Jess!"
"Okay, Okay. You remember what I said at lunch right?"
"It's the first day back and I'm already contemplating moving to Slovakia." Charlie groaned as he banged his head on the cheap wooden table.
"Tell me about it- you know Mrs Henry? She gave me detention already!" Jess complained.
"How the hell do you get detention on the first day?" Cam butted in, utterly confused.
"She was asking about everyone's summer, and Layla- you know, the teachers pet- asked Mrs Henry about hers. She said she went on vacation with her boyfriend and I may have joked about her being a witch because the only way she would have a boyfriend is if she put a spell on the poor guy."
