Four's POV

"So..." Tris hums, glancing around the car nervously. Am i making her nervous? She's definitely making me nervous.

"What did you do to get in trouble with your father?" I ask, the first thing that comes in my head to say to break this awkward silence.

"I don't even know, he got mad about the terracotta plant pot or something." She says, i can hear the annoyance in her voice.

"Sorry about that..." I say, reaching into my pocket. " How much are terracotta plant pots worth?" I ask, pulling out my wallet.

"It's fine, they're dirt cheap." She responds, pushing away my wallet. We sit there for a few seconds of silence.

"You do realise the longer you wait to go home, the angrier he's going to get?" I say. She looks down and sighs.

"I know, I just don't want to go back yet." She speaks softly, i can barely hear her. I nod and we sit in silence again. "I might check if I can stay with Christina for a bit." She says, pulling out her phone and texting Christina.

After a minute of her texting, she finally responds.

"Christina says I can go to hers." She says. "12 Dauntless Street."

I turn the car back on and we start driving to Christina's house.

"Can you drop me off at the end of the street?" Tris asks, glancing around nervously again. "I don't want Christina to know we were hanging out. She might get a bit-"

"Squealy?" I ask, finishing off her sentence.

"Yeah, exactly that." She nods at me.

I make it to Dauntless street and park the car on the side of the road for Tris to get out. She hops out of the car and she waves. I wave back.

I start driving back to my house. I get slightly lost in thought. I forgot all about the party i was planning, something to get back at Marcus. The more i think about the idea, the more immature, stupid and cowardly it seems. I'm still going to do it though.

I park in the driveway and get out of the car. I walk through the front door and upstairs into my room. All i can think about is Tris.

Tris's POV

"So..." Christina asks, as she plops herself down on the couch next to me. "Why are you running away?"

"I broke something." Is all i say. "My father got mad at me for no reason."

"You do realise that i can tell when your lying" She says, rolling her eyes at me. "What actually happened?" She says, looking me straight in the eyes.

"I really don't want to tell you that." I say. "It's really a weird story."

"Just use anonymous people." She replies.

I explain to her what happened calling Four 'anonymous' the whole time.

"Please don't ask everyone and try figure out who 'anonymous' is!" I plead, Christina gives great advice but she it is likely that she's going to tell everyone, ever.

"I won't, I promise." She responds, highly unlikely. She's probably going to tell everybody. "And maybe 'anonymous' left some sort of evidence that your father found." I didn't even think about it. I didn't check for any evidence that Four might've left.

"Anyway!" Christina says, scaring me out of my skin. She's so loud and obnoxious. "Let's watch some movies!"

For the rest of the night we watch movies and eat popcorn until we fall asleep.

*time skip*

I wake up because of the sun peeking through Christina's bedroom window. I pick up my phone and check it. 5 texts from my father, 8 texts from my mother.

FATHER: Beatrice, you need to come home right now.

FATHER: Beatrice, If you don't come home soon, you'll be in even bigger trouble.

FATHER: Beatrice, it's late. please come home.

FATHER: Beatrice, if you come home now, you won't get in any trouble, i promise.

FATHER: Beatrice, your mother and i are getting worried. please come home.

All the ones from my mother are along the lines of 'Beatrice, come home. you're not in any trouble and your father and i are worried sick. please just come home'.

I turn off my phone and walk over to Christina's desk and grab a sticky note. i write on it 'Hey Christina, went home before you woke to talk to my dad'. I stuck the note on her door and left her house.

Ugh. I forgot that Four dropped me off last night, my house is ages away. It's quite early in the morning too. It's 6:30, all my friends would be asleep and I don't want to bother anyone. I start walking to my house. I'll probably be there by around 7:15. Around ten minutes into my walk, I see a familiar car, Four's.

He obviously spotted me too, because he pulls over next to me.

"Need a ride?" He asks as he unwinds his car window. I nod and hop into the passenger seat.

"Are you going home?" He asks, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Yeah," I say. "Just take me there before i question it and change my mind."

I tell him the address and he starts driving.

"Are you always up this early taxi-driving?" I ask. He chuckles.

"I'm always up this early, but not usually taxi-driving." He laughs.

"Can i have the taxi drivers phone number in case i'm in another emergency?" I ask.

"1046 646 104." He says as he parks the car in front of my house.

"Thanks, Four." I say, hopping out of the car. We waves goodbye and he drives away.

I walk over to my front door, I stand there in hesitation. After a few seconds I open the door and walk inside. I don't think anybody is home. I walk up to my room and go inside, I lay on my bed and pull out my phone. It's 6:52 now. I text my mother so she stops worrying.

TRIS: I'm back home. I stayed at Christina's for the night.

I turn off my phone and place it down. Then I fall back asleep.
