Dirk's pov

"I can't believe I'm meeting them," I said quietly to myself as I got dressed. I pulled on my black, ripped up, faded jeans, my orange high tops, and a black tee-shirt with a snapback design.

Today was the day that me, Jane, Roxy, and Jake were all finally going to meet. They had all video chatted before, except for me. I just don't do video chats, I'd rather meet in person. God what if they don't like me? I know they've been my best friends for 6 years now, but who knows?

I headed out the door towards the mall, grabbing my shades on the way out. The first thing I spotted when I opened the doors to the food court, where we agreed to meet, was blue, pink, and green in a corner and I instantly knew it was my friends. My heart began beating a little faster as I approached them.

"Uh, hey..." I said quietly, tapping on Roxy's shoulder. My Texas accent was showing through my voice a little.

When the three of them turned around they all just stared at me.

"Bloody hell..." Jake mumbled quietly with a small blush. I looked at Jane and Roxy whose cheeks were both bright red.

"What?" I asked indignantly.

"You're hot," Jane blurted and then Jake elbowed her and gave her a glare. She backed off a little and gave him a knowing look.

"Uh, thanks?" I asked quietly. Jake stepped forward a bit and held out his hand.

"Nice to finally meet you Dirk," he smiled a bit shyly. His accent made my heart melt, I had liked Jake for a while now.

"Same to you Jake," I said, my normal smirk finding it's way onto my lips. Jake's blush deepened a bit as I shook his hand and held it a bit longer than normal. Roxy shot me a look and I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Let's go shop!" Roxy squealed and grabbed Jane's hand, dragging her along. I shrugged, and Jake and I followed them.

"Why didn't you ever video chat with us?" Jake asked as we looked around in whatever clothing store we had been taken to. Roxy and Jane had disappeared somewhere in the store.

"Isn't my thing," I shrugged and then smirked. "Do you wish I would have?"

"Well... I mean, you're my best 'bro'," He said as he blushed a little.

"You sure do blush a lot," I smirked and his eyes widened a little. God those pretty green eyes...

"Hey, do you wanna go with me to get some new Converse? I've been meaning to get some," I said, giving him a small genuine smile. Jake nodded his head enthusiastically.

"Converse are like the shoes you're wearing now?" He asked.

"Yep, these are pretty beat up after so much time striffing in them," I said with a grin.

"I want to get a pair to then, do they gave green?" He said, grinning back at me.

"Of course dude, c'mon let's go," I said, my usual Strider smirk showing through again. I held out my arm and bowed a little. "My good sir," I said in mockingly fancy voice.

Jake smiled and wrapped his arm around mine. "The pleasure is all mine," Jake giggled back, his British accent popping.

I smiled to myself and led him over to the shoe store and out of Roxy and Jane's store choice. I was looking around for more bright orange Converse like I always got while Jake just looked around at the different colors.

"I have a question," Jake announced, finally finding a pair of olive green Converse.

"Mm?" I hummed in response, picking out my own shoes.

"Why the shades?" He asked curiously. Jake was a friend right? No point in keeping secrets if he would find out eventually.

"Here, I'll show you," I said softly, taking his hands and placing them at my shades.

"Dirk, you've never shown anyone your eyes," He mumbled, his cheeks tinging pink. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, moving my hands from his wrist.

"Go ahead. I trust you, Jake," I was shocked by how sincere my voice was, but I truly did trust Jake with my life.

I kept my eyes closed, waiting for Jake to take off the shades. I felt them being slid off and my heart began racing. Once they were off completely I opened my eyes, letting them adjust to the new lightly.

Jake's eyes widened at the sight of my own bright citrus ones. Shit.

"I know they're weird!" I said quickly, squeezing them shut. A small hand cradled my cheek and I kept my eyes closed tightly. My mind began racing.

"Dirk, they're gorgeous," Jake said in a breathy voice. "Open them, please."

I let my eyes open once more, looking into Jake's forest green eyes.

"They seem to glow..." Jake said in a slightly mesmerized voice.

"They're not normal," I said softly, letting his hands began tracing along my cheek bones and jawline. "Why are you doing?"

"Looking," Jake said softly, his hands moving down and tracing my collar bone. A small shiver ran down my back as I kept eye contact with him.

He began moving his hands over the muscles in my arms.

"It's like you're inspecting me," I laughed softly.

"I'm inspecting how attractive you are," Jake grinned, his cheeks flushing red. I felt my own cheeks tinge a light pink as I rolled my eyes.

"Come on, English. Let's go check out and go find our sisters," I smiled, tugging on his hand.

(Btw I have a headcannon that since they didn't go through the game Jane and Jake related and so are Dirk and Roxy)
