CHANYEOL's POV,
The sudden chill down my spine wasn't caused by Jungkook's voice—it was someone else, lurking behind me, taking slow, deliberate steps closer. Panic surged within me as I realized the situation was escalating rapidly.
"Shit," Sehun's voice rang out, echoing my own sentiments. Something was definitely off, and when a cold, metallic object pressed softly against my back, I knew I was in deep trouble.
"Hands behind your head," the voice commanded, its tone ominously threatening.I complied, placing my hands behind my head as instructed. Meanwhile, Jungkook maintained his smirk, lounging casually at the front of my car. The man finally revealed himself, looming over me with an unsettling amusement, his glasses tucked into his shirt, his hand still gripping the gun.
My body tensed involuntarily. "Ahaha, don't even think about it, Dr. Park. Take a good look around," he taunted, gesturing with his finger as other suited men materialized seemingly out of nowhere. The nozzle of his gun pressed against my chest, pinpointing the exact spot where the camera had been discreetly placed beneath my shirt button. He waved his hand mockingly. "Hello there. How are you? Your friend isn't faring too well over here."
With a swift motion, he extracted the camera and crushed it beneath his shoe. Then, with a cruel kick to the back of my knees, he sent me sprawling to the ground.
Once again, he loomed over me, his hands brushing against my ears to remove the tiny earpiece. "There you are," he muttered, addressing my unseen companions. "If you don't show yourselves in three seconds, your friend here will bid farewell to this cruel world."
Another kick to my gut forced the air from my lungs, and I fought to remain composed. The man had no idea he was inviting his own demise by attacking me.
He leveled his gun between my eyebrows, and I silently prayed for no one to intervene. They shouldn't risk their lives for me."One."
"Two."
"Three."
"Four."
Finally, a presence emerged behind me. Relief washed over me momentarily, until I heard the chuckle behind me. Who could it be? Sehun, Lay, or Baekhyun?
I prayed it wasn't Baekhyun, didn't want him risking his life for me. Hell, I didn't want anyone risking their lives for me, not even Sehun, not even Lay, not anyone.
I couldn't see who it was, just a shadowy figure stepping forward. "Oh, sir, it's you."
Damn it, not Baekhyun. My worst nightmare turned reality as he crouched beside me.
"Chanyeol, are you okay?" His voice held a composed tone, though I could see tears welling in his eyes. He helped me to my feet, his gaze fixed on the man who had struck me. "What now?" he demanded, his glare piercing, but the man merely chuckled in response.
