Dallas

It was my senior year at Texas A&M and it felt fucking awesome!  I was here on a full scholarship and my best friend was with me.  I had my pick of girls and could have a different one every night.  What could be better?

My life was pretty fucking good until my bright blue eyes met her fierce brown ones.

Her dark chocolate brown hair looked softer than silk.  My eyes went a little further down until they caught a glimpse of that drop dead gorgeous smile.  My eyes kept roaming down every inch of her perfect curves.

This girl had to be the sexiest thing I had ever laid eyes on.

That was when I realized who she was.

This girl was Caelyn Matthews. The girl who I relentlessly teased when we were in middle school.  The same girl who somehow, made braces and glasses look good in eight grade.

She was what was able to make me keep moving foward, but she never knew that.  As I started to head over to her, my buddy Tyler grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Can't do that dude".

"Why not? She taken?"  I sure hope she wasn't, but the way she looked, I had no doubt she was.

"No, it's not that," he sighs.

"Two years ago Caelyn and her brother were driving home from a friend's party. It was really late and a Friday night."

"Cut the shit man, what happened?"

Tyler sighs again.  "Long story short, Caelyn's brother died.  She was in the hospital for two months, that's why she has all those scars on her forehead.  He was her only family left, well since, you know.."

I do know.  When Caelyn was fourteen, her dad died of a heart attack.  The next year, her mom died of breast cancer. Her brother was her only security, the only thing she had.

"Anyways, he always promised her nothing would ever break them apart.  When he died, she shut off all emotions so she couldn't be broken again.  Get this, she even gave up singing.  You know her agent was able to get her a record deal?  Well, she didn't take it."

"Ah shit man," I said.

Tyler regained his composure and straightened up his back.

"That's why you can't hurt her man.  She's not just a one night stand so you can get laid.  She's not like that and she probably not gonna want to even talk to you.  The only person she's close with any more is Kailey."

Fury rose up in me.  "I get that man, its not like that!  I want to be the one to get her to laugh and open up again."

"Oh yeah?"  Tyler sneered.  "Well maybe after you stop fucking anything with a pair of God damn legs and some boobs, you can do that."

Tyler stalked off, and as much as I would like to admit that everything he said was an exaggeration; it wasn't.

Tyler always tells it like it is; cuts the crap out for you.

He was right, and the truth's a bitch.
