Caelyn

My life has sucked. I never had anyone constant in my life. My parents both died when I was a teenager.

My brother was my only saving grace. Always there to protect me; he was your classic overprotective brother. And while most sisters would be pissed about that, I loved it. It meant that he would never just walk out or leave, at least not easily.

Wow, was I wrong. Who knew that a couple drinks made it so easy for someone to kill someone so innocent as my brother? The worse part was the drunk driver lived.

Why couldn't it be me who died? Damn I will not cry about this again! I came to Texas A&M to get away from all of this, right?

My best friend Kailey goes here, and she can always take my mind off things. Surprisingly, she's even got me to smile once, which is pretty hard to do when you try to supress all emotions from surfacing.

As I walk along the trails of the campus, I feel someone staring. I glance out of the corner of my eye and standing not twenty feet away from me is Dallas Morris. I narrow my eyes at his crystal blue ones and his perfectly messy brown hair.

Most girls would kill for a night with him, but then again I am not like most girls.

I remember back in middle school when he would constantly tease me. He practically flunked half his classes and always made fun of me as I was your classic over achiever.

One day I couldn't take it anymore, so I punched him right in the jaw, but did that stop him? Of course not. I shake my head. Bastard.

If anything, punching him in the jaw made him keep teasing me.  I don't understand that logic, but he just never stopped.

I continue walking and notice his wingman, Tyler, walk over in his direction. He was always really nice, and we used to hang out after school for a while. I actually miss the way we used to laugh together... no.

I can not feel emotions anymore. My logic, if you don't feel, no one can hurt you.

Ty and Dallas look like they're having a heated conversation, but I couldn't care less. I walk into the Starbucks on campus and order my usual drink. I sit down and take out my laptop and textbook and start working on my chem paper due on the first day of senior classes, which is tommorow.

About an hour later it starts to get pretty loud, and I gather my belongings to leave. I go to open the door when I bump right into no other than Dallas Morris.
