Sam POV
The next day we finished packing and climbed into my car, heading to the airport to go to the States and get on the tour bus. I was excited and nervous at the same time, but something didn't sit right with me. Sure my demons were gone, but there had to be something I was missing. I looked at Dan who was driving and lost in thought. Surely he was keeping something from me. He'd been off lately and extra quiet, working in his music room when he had time. The past few days he barely said a word to me. Now that Peter was gone, I thought it would get better, but it hadn't. I started to think maybe he didn't want me to go on tour with him. Maybe he wanted to be free from me. I sighed before speaking softly, hiding my insecurities.
"You okay?" I took his hand and smiled slightly, trying to get him to open up more to me. He nodded before giving me a smile.
"Ya I'm just nervous about touring again. The break gave me time away from the crazy fans and all. I just hope none come back. Lets not forget some other people I used to know." I lifted my brow and moved a little in my seat, curious as to what he meant and how much he'd kept from me.
"You were too worried about my past to tell me about yours?" I frowned a little as he nodded.
"Maybe on the bus we will talk about it Sam. Things just got good for us. I'm not ruining it." He parked the car in the long term lot before kissing my forehead and giving a slight smile. "I'll protect you. Plus I haven't been involved with these people in a year...maybe two. Don't worry about it or me alright. I'm this guy now. Who I was in my past was terrible." He closed his eyes and shook his head before resting his forehead against mine and taking my hand, bringing it to his lips. "I love you Sam. With all of my being." I smiled slightly as he did.
"I love you too. Lets get going we don't want to be late." I got out of the car once he'd let my hand go and we walked into the airport, going through security and meeting up with Kyle and Alex who were pratically sitting in eachother's laps as they shared a seat in the waiting area. Alex noticed my disappointed expression. she stood up and cleared her throat a little.
"Sam I saw the cutest thing in a shop I have to show you!" She grabbed my wrist and tugged me off, making me laugh. We got out of earshot from the boys and gave me a look "Spill the beans. What is happening in Paradise." I took a deep breath and shrugged.
"Dan says that there are dark parts of his past that might come around. He says not to worry. I thought maybe you might know since well you are a super fan." I laughed a little but noticed Alex go into deep though. We walked into the shop before she stopped and sighed.
"I think he means drinking Sam. Rumor has it that Dan was getting into trouble with the law..with drugs and drinking. I don't know though. Kyle did tell me though that he was a bit of a mess at one point and got in deep with some bad people and well some crazy woman. You'll be fine." I shrugged slightly before taking a deep breath and trying to smile.
"Here I thought life was gonna start getting good. Thanks Alex." I sighed again before looking around the shop and buying some gum and a wolf hoodie I saw that Dan could wear when the other one got too gross for me to handle. We walked back to the guys, Dan had his headphones in and was looking as the plane pulled up. I sat beside him and kissed his cheek, a smile crossing his lips.
"You know...You get more beautiful every time I see you" He kissed me again before resting his head on my shoulder, his messy hair tickling my neck and face.
"Your hair gets messier and messier!" I laughed as he did. "Either way. I'm always here for you." I just hoped that the man I loved wasn't going to be lost on this trip. He is my sanity.
