I looked around me, realizing that I had strayed off my path.
I took a look at my phone to realize that I have been walking for about an hour now.
I tried to get myself to stop thinking about what had just happened but it seemed impossible.
I sat on an iron bench and called a cab to come pick me up.

As I stepped out of the car, I tried to avoid looking at Clay who was sitting on the steps leading to my front porch.
Clay is a classmate of mine that I have been tutoring since last year, and I forgot that I had invited him over to study.
"Hey, sorry, I probably should've told you sooner but can we reschedule for tomorrow?" I asked.
"It's okay," he answered me as he stood up, "let's just hang out instead."
