As I went downstairs I smelled something delicious.
"Yummy," I said, "what're you preparing?"
"Pancakes," she replied with a grin.
"My favorite," I told her.
"I know you well," she stated.
"I smell pancakes," Justin stated from behind me.
"We all do," mum joked.
"Ha, ha, ha, you're so funny Jennifer," I exclaimed.
"So are you," she imitated me.
"Y'all so childish," Justin said in a bored tone.
"Thanks, you too," Jennifer and I said.
"Can we eat already," Justin joked.
"Yes we can," mum said as she put a plate of pancakes on the table.
"Yummy," Justin said cheerful. We all sat and started to eat. Few minutes later mum's phone rang.
"Be right back," she apologized as she took it and went to the backyard. We heard her scream at her phone and after a few minutes she came back.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I have to leave today at midnight," she said.
"What?" I asked.
"I'm sorry, your dad bought me a ticket," she apologized. "Your dad has a business and I have to stay with your grandma."
"But mum..."
"I'm sorry Andrew," she whispered. "I'm going to see if I need anything."
"Okay mum," I said standing up before leading her into a hug. She hugged me back and then left as I let go of her.
"I'm sorry Andy," Justin said.
"It's okay, it has always been like this," I told him as I sat next to him.
"Poor baby," he said jokingly and then hugged me. I stood up and went outside. He followed me.
"Woah, I never knew you had a pool," he said. I ignored him and lied down on the grass looking at the sky. He ran childishly and sat next to me. He was kind of annoying but I knew he wanted to cheer me up.
"You didn't tell your mum," he told me, "did you change your mind?"
"Shmit," I shouted trying not to cuss. I didn't like cussing, but when I get pissed of... Don't ask. I stood up and ran inside heading upstairs.
"Hey, where are you going?" Justin shouted as he ran behind me. I broke into my mum's room and she was sitting on her bed, her laptop in front of her.
"Mum, I have to tell you something," I said breathing heavily.
"I thought the backyard was burning," she joked.
"No, my heart is," I said. She laughed then stopped quickly seeing how serious I was.
"Who is the lucky girl?" She asked. I eyed Justin who was now beside me.
"It's a guy, and, uhh he's in front of you," I told her. She raised her eyes from her screen and started to laugh.
"W- what's so funny?" I asked nervously. She kept on laughing.
"Come here gentleman," she ordered opening her arm as if she wanted to hug us. Justin and I eyed each other what made her laugh more. "I'm not going to like murder you or something, come and hug me." Just hesitated but then took a step to the front what encouraged me to do the same. We both hugged her.
"You two should know I was laughing at how nervous you were," she laughed, "and I might have known Justin for like a few hours now, but being Andrew's friend before, and his boyfriend now, makes me feel like you're my son. And I want you both the best. Take care of each other children."
"Thanks Mrs. Harrington," he said.
"For the thousand's time, call me Jennifer Justin," she begged.
"Okay Jennifer Justin," I joked expecting no one to laugh. And well I never expect anything right, they both laughed.
"I was going to say it," Justin laughed.
"Well now you got to give me credits if you say it, right?" I joked.
"Do not feel so important Andrew. You. Ain't," he replied.
"Mum say something," I whined.
"Justin, you're right," she said while looking at her screen, "Andrew, you're grounded." I faked a baby laugh as I went in my bedroom. Justin followed me after a moment and locked the door behind him.
"Your mum asked me to lock you in," he stated.
"Did she ask you to lock yourself too?" I asked sarcastically.
"Umm, maybe," he replied.
"Maybe is never a yes, got out, I'm grounded," I ordered.
"Nah, you're wrong sweetie try again," he joked.
"Try what?" I said as I got closer to him.
"Whatever you want," he said as he took a step back and hit his back on the door. I got closer to him and grabbed him by the shoulders. He gave me a happy look as I threw him on the bed. But didn't it last long, especially after I unlocked the door and started running all around the house. He started to run behind me. And right when he was about to catch me in the backyard, I bent down causing him to fall in the pool.
"The water is freezing," he stated taking a heavy breath between each word. I gave him my hand and helped him out.
"Wait me here, I'll bring some towels and dry clothes, Jennifer would kill both of us if you go in," I whispered not letting my mum hear.
"I heard you," she shouted from upstairs.
"Are you like a bat or what?" I shouted back.
"I'm a supermum," she said.
"A bat?" Justin asked.
"Yes, bats have a really good hearing," I stated. I flew upstairs and brought him a towel.
"Dry yourself, I'll lend you some of my clothes, are you okay with it?" I asked as I handed him the towel.
"Um, do I get naked here?" He asked.
"No no, come in, but do not go out of the kitchen, I warned you." I ran upstairs and then brought him a pair of jeans and an underwear.
"Put these and then you can go and choose any shirt from the closet," I said as I handed him what I've brought. I went out, closed the door behind me and headed to my mum's room.
A/N: This chapter is a but shorter but whatever. And I'd like to dedicate it to every reader that is a part of the LGBTQ+ community. I love you no matter what. And you should come out now or later, do not lie about it and be proud. I know you might be in a hard situation, but whenever you feel like it come out. And those who might not accept you do not deserve you. Be you, you, you, and only you. <3
