Chapter 12 |Brick & Blossom|

Brick Jojo

I grabbed my sword and held it out in front of me. Blossom stood next to me, she stared forward but held her dagger by her side. I glanced over as Boomer held his hands up. Rocks shot up, the lion jumped all over the place as Boomer kept putting rocks up. Bones started to hit the lion, then a dark shadow appeared. My heart jumped to my throat as Butch jumped out from the shadow then lanfef on the lions back. I shouted out his name then ran after him.

"Brick! Actually think things through!" Blossom yelled.

I smelled salt air and shouting happened behind me. I felt the ankles of my pants wet, I looked down and noticed a wave of water is carrying me. I smirked and yelled, lightning flashed around me, thunder boomed. Dark clouds covered the sky, most people would gate a rainstorm but I loved it. Knowing a storm is coming, smelling a storm gave me more energy. I always love storms, they gave me life.

I jumped on lion's back and stabbed my sword in his back. My sword just bounced off, so I tried again and again. My sword kept boucing off. That should've told me to but I couldn't help but to keep slicing his skin, sparks flew and the lion groaned in annoyance. The lion sat down and stratch his head. I looked at Butch.

"I think you might bore it to death." Butch said.

"Shut up." I said as I sliced the back one more time.

"You can't use normal weapons. Only his claws can cut him." Blossom snapped.

I looked back at her, and she gave me an irritated look. I gave her a goofy smile then jumped off with Butch. A wave of water caught us and brought us back to the group. Ace sighed as he pulled out his spear. Blossom looked at Boomer, and my gut twisted with jealously, then she snapped her fingers. Everyone looked at her.

"Hercules killed the lion by choking it. We can do the same." Blossom said.

"How?" Ace asked.

"Boomer can control water, all we need is him to trap the lion in a large ball of water. The lion will choke, Boomer and Butch can take Rider back to camp, and we can finish the quest." She said.

I raised my hand, "Uh, amazing plan but there's one tiny problem."

She raised her eyebtow.

"Boomer can't control his powers! Something can and will go terrible wrong!"

"Brick, have faith in your brother."

"I do! I want to protect my brother." I said. "You have no idea how Boomer gets when he loses control, Blossom!"

Blossom punched me in the chest, I groaned and glared at her. Butch sighed as he waved his hand in my face.

"Brick, I hate to ruin your little 'fighting like a married couple' bit. But! The lion coming at us and he looks angry!" Butch yelled.

We all turned around and saw the lion charging at us, roaring. I lifted my sword but Rider past us. We all looked at him dumbfounded but Rider pulled out a scarf. My mouth dropped as Rider jumped on the lion's back and wrapped the lion's back. The lion started to thrashed around but Rider pulled on the scarf. Rider looked at me, I raised my eyebrow but he looked over at Boomer. I widened my eyes as he gave me a smile.

"What does he want us to do?" Butch asked, shocked.

"Tell Boomer to put the bubble of water around us now!" Rider gasped.

The lion thrashed around as he tried to buck off Rider. I opened my mouth to say something but a water bubble surrounded him. I gasped and looked at Boomer. His arms shook a little and sweat beated down his forehead. I turned back and saw Rider had a bubble of air around his head. I pressed my lips together and ran towards the lion.

"Brick!" Blossom yelled, and she chased me.

Brick is stupid. First he basically tells me not to run into danger then he go runs after the lion! I don't understand him, I don't understand how boys work. As a child of Athena I should know how solve it. Yet Athena doesn't know about love, she knows battle strategy and wisdom. There ain't no wisdom about love! Love is unpredictable! No plan or pattern, everything that Athena is against!

So I have no idea why I am chasing him, I do want to protect Rider. But I also want to protect Brick. Brick jumped in the water, he grabbed the scarf and pulled it. Then lion roared, allowing the water to get in his mouth. I grabbed Rider's to pull him out, he gasped for air. Rider grabbed me and I tugged him away. I looked at Brick, the water fell and the lion dropped. Brick gasped for air, I laid Rider down carefully then ran towards Brick.
"Brick! Are you okay?" I asked.

I grabbed his shoulders and leaned my ear next to his chest. He was barely breathing but thank Athena he still breathing. I pushed back his hair, he breathing slowly. I grabbed his hand and pulled it close to my mouth. I kissed his hand.

"Brick, come on. Open your eyes." I begged.

He made a noise, "N-need some food."

I smiled, "Come on, you idiot."

I picked up him up, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. Ace picked up Rider, we walked to the motel. Boomer leaned against the wall, heavy breathing as Butch rubbed his back. I felt guilty as Boomer flashed me a quick smile then closed his eyes. I brought Brick inside and laid him on the bed.

I know the maid is gonna kill us for allowing the sheets to get wet.
"Brick, I'm gonna get you some chips. Yeah?" I asked.

I try to get away but Brick grabbed my arm. I looked at him, he laced our hands together. My face turn beet red as he gave me a smile. Oh jeez, his smile always gives me butterflies. Brick brought our hands to his chest. Usually I would complain how wet he is but I can't. Brick Jojo is holding my, Blossom Akatsusumi, hand! Talk about Aphrodite blessing.

"Stay with me." Brick whispered.

"Of course." I replied.

I smiled at him and he looked up at the ceiling with a goofy smile. Ace came in holding Rider, Butch came inside with Boomer and something furry. I raised my eyebrow and he lifted up the jacket.

"Look what the lion left us." He said.

Brick laughed, "I can't believe you're that dense."

I looked over at Brick. He stared at me, squeezing my hand tight. My face turn red as he stroke my hand with his thumb.

"Blossom?" He said.

"Yeah?" I asked him.

"I think you're amazing."

I widened my eyes, I opened my mouth to say something but snored left his mouth. I glared at him but smiled. He thinks I'm amazing!
