Blossom AkatsutsumiI can't believe Brick! How in the actual history can he hold my pinky then hand! As soon someone else comes in the flipping, he pushes me off! What the Hades! He's a little baby, forget all the blessings I asked from Aphrodite. I don't want Brick as boyfriend if he's embarrassed just to for us to cuddle.
"Wait." Ace whispered.
He stuck out his arm and being me, I ran into it. I grabbed his arm then preceded to look around. Brick grumbled something which made me glare at him. He gave me a sad look. My heart broke, and I wanna forgive him. After seeing my facial expression he smiled. So I decided to do the next best thing.
I turned away with my head held high.
I looked out and saw someone walking, well actually limping. My eyed widened as I saw a body outline, I pushed Ace away and ran towards the mystery person. Now granted it's not my best decision but lucky the person isn't an monster, hopefully. She looked at me with startling green eyes, they looked scared and she held up a rock. Getting ready to throw it at me, I put my hands in front of my face.
"Hey! I'm good." I exclaimed.
She stumbled, "No . . . How do I know your not one of those orgre freaks back there?"
"Wait, you're a demi-god?"
"No, I'm a human. Now tell me the truth or I'll toss this like David and Goliath and make you fall down."
Brick put himself between us. I growled and put my hands on my hips. The girl didn't out her arm down, instead she straighten her back. Ace took out her sword and pointed it towards her. She narrowed her eyes ready for a fight, even if she going to lose she will still fight. Maybe a child of Ares. They refuse to back down from a fight.
Her eyes widen, "Ogres!"
"What?" I muttered.
I turned around and noticed a large creature running towards us. I narrowed my eyes and the smell made me gag. Imagine that smell of rotten food you left out, that's what it smelled like. Brick muttered a prayer as Ace started to run to the monster. I shout out his name but the girl gasped.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I turned around.
She pressed against her temples, her startling green eyes turn white. She stumbled around and smoke wrapped around her legs. I rushed forward but Brick grabbed my waist. I said some colorful words as I hit his arm. Then she let out a blood curdling scream. She looked at me and pointed her finger at us.
"You face terrible danger,
The monster weeps
Fear for the exchanger
And truly find what keeps
Yet only two shall come out alive but with a terrible price."The girl dropped to the ground. Brick grip loosen and I pushed him off then ran towards the girl. Grabbing her shoulders and shook her lightly. I looked at Brick widly and heard Ace cheering as he killed the ogre. The girl groaned as she opened her eyes. No longer white, thank Hera, but now green.
Then it hit me. She isn't a daughter of Ares. She has the ability to see through the mist. A rare gift but dangerous to have. Why you ask? Apollo sometimes, usually he doesn't remember, gives them the gift of prophecy. And when monsters find out they find and use those humans. For their gift.
"You can see through the mist, can you?" I asked her.
"So many monsters." She whispered.
"My name is Blossom and I wanna help." I said and grabbed my bag. Pulling out a pen, I wrote a number on her arm. "Call this number when you see monsters again. Tell them that Blossom, daughter of Athena, gave you the number. That place will keep you safe."
She smiled, "Thank you."
I helped her up and she looked at Ace, her eyes darken. He just smiled and held out his hand, introduced himself. I looked at Brick but he just glared at the girl. The girl didn't seem to care as she looked at the number on her arm. She looked up at me with a smile.
"My name is Buttercup." She said.
Just like that she ran away. I frowned as I watched her run away. I know deep down if she doesn't call the camp then she's going to die. Brick grabbed my arm. I looked back and he frowned.
And in that second I know that I may forgive him. No, Blossom, I need a back bone. Ace looked around and Brick pulled me close.
"Why did you tell her your name? She could be a mosnter spy for all we know about!" Brick hissed.
"She isn't. She's just a scared girl." I snapped.
"How can you be so sure? Last time I check, your judgment isn't the best."
"Excuse me?"
"Blossom, I didn't mean anything by it. But you're to trusting, you remember that time during the cabin volleyball game? Fauna just slammed your face with the ball because you believed she actually broke her ankle."
"That was one time," I said and ripped my arm from his grasp. "And I don't care what you think. You're obviously embarrassed to be seen with me and by Ace!"
He blinked, "What? No we're not talking about that."
I pushed his chest, "Are you kidding me! Brick Jojo you are the most selfish person I ever mwt. Have you ever actually thought about how I feel? Nope you're just all about yourself! I guess the saying right, father like son."
"Blossom. . ."
Something flashed which made me turn around. The field had one giant raincloud and only rained in one place. Crying was heard from here. Then I remembered what Buttercup's prophecy said, the monster weeps. The person is in the field right now. Where no life grows.
"He's there." I said.
"Great! Now let's go. I miss my bed." Ace said.
I giggled.
"Blossom wait. I wanna apologize." Brick said.
I glanced at him and ran towards the field. Hearing the thunder behind me, and felt the ground shaking from the lightning striking down. I pressed my eyes together not wanting to cry.
I'm a daughter of Athena, I can't fall in love. My mother doesn't believe in love, so I won't either. I just want this stupid quest over with so I can finally go home and never look at Brick again.
Not caring if it hurts.
