Black and white. Sometimes grey, but the world was hopelessly filled with only those specific basic colors. The only thing you've seen since you could remember.

Outfits were plain, walls are plain, everything is just plain. For you, nothing could get worse, so for your convince, you picked drawing as a hobby. Your mother had explained to you many times before that color is not always needed for art.

'Many pieces of art are black and white' she's say, but the more you heard her say it the more it would cut out for you.
You desperately wanted color, a thing that everyone knew only a soulmate could provide for you.

The only problem is that you've been waiting for yours for 13 years. Surrounded by drawings of black and white, waiting to be colored just like the rest.

You'd constantly hear things on the news about amazing stories of soulmate bonding. You'd also hear stories about soulmate discrimination about same sex soul mates as a, 'mistake of nature.'

So here you sat in science taking your test, Mr.Clarke was impressed about your level of IQ considering the new information the school county required all students to learn and the fact that you moved here about no more than 3 days ago.

You finished a while ago, waiting for everyone else to turn in their papers, so once again you found your self scribbling on the back like always. This time you drew two people holding hands, a boy and a girl each staring into the others eyes like nothing else mattered.

You even envied the couple in your own drawing as they probably received an ability that they didn't have before. Everyone's bonding was different. In some ways more similar than others, all you had to do was meet the one who had no ability to see color, like you.

The relieving sound of the bells ring filled your ears as everyone else flooded the hallways just like you. But this time I guess your ability to balance was taken away as well, because next thing you know someone bumped into you just enough to make you drop all of your stuff.

Everything for each class scattered the hallway floor, some items kicked around to the other side as some just fell out the folders. No one stopped to pick them up but you except....

One boy. Short-ish, well, the same height as you. Bowl cut, but the bangs were swept to the side, brown, like a light reddish brown color. Wait......

Color. Not only his hair, but color flooded your vision like a brick hit your head, and hard. Every color filled your irises, blue lockers, blue sky, beautiful bright and vibrant blue.

His skin was pale, almost to the point where you couldn't notice any skin color, pale like he had seen things he shouldn't have. His clothes were normal like anything else. Jeans, a striped shirt and brown coat, simple.

Where as you, didn't like dressing in girl typed things, you wore some flannel and some black skinny jeans.
Don't get me wrong, but dresses just weren't your thing. Too many inconveniences.

But he stared just like you did to him. Suddenly your binder with its contents spilled onto the tile floors didn't matter anymore. It was you and your soulmate.

"H-Hi." Was the only thing leaving your mouth, you wanted to form something clever like, 'where have you been all my life' or flirtatious like that but no, hi was what happened.

He became speechless which you couldn't blame him, you were too.
You didn't expect to meet him so early, in fact the average age to meet your soulmate is usually around 16-20.

"H-Hey, what's Your name?" His words were small and quiet, and insecurity could be detected in it, almost making you feel sad he didn't have confidence in him.

You looked down at your things and brushed what you could back into the now realizing, red binder and stood up to meet his level. "I'm y/n, and you are....Will right?" You squinted hoping that you got his name right. You didn't really like the idea of getting your soulmate's  name wrong.

Again, his chocolate brown eyes stared into your e/c ones, "Yeah, I'm Will." You smiled, now realizing the many things you'd finally be able to enjoy now that Will was at your side forever and always.

This time you saw him look down at your stuff. The red binder had bent and folded papers striking out the sides and bottom, from you frantically gathering them. He also noticed a few other things of your a few feet away from your area. "Oh, geez your stuff, let me help you with that."

You both kneeled down to the floor and reaching for the things that still were left out. Finally a glue stick was only left, on the opposite side of the lockers.
Both of you reached for it at the same time causing your fingers to collide.

At first both your reactions were to retract and let the other get it, but then realizing that maybe you should get only resulting in an endless game of copycat. Chuckles were heard escaping both your mouths and finally Will decided to pick it up.

You both stood as he handed the glue stick to you, with not only a charming and sweet smile, but a faint blush that painted his canvas of pale skin.
Your toothy grin made him melt inside, truly defining the definition of soulmate.
