Corey's POV

Today was the big day. Nia & I were having our dinner with all of our family members and friends. I don't know why, but I was very nervous. It had been five years since Dana, and a lot of people would think I was moving a bit fast. My relationship with Nia wasn't something that I really put on display. She came to work for me as Bey's replacement. We started off as friends, but when we worked together on a project, I noticed that we shared a lot in common. Granted, from that point to having her move in, it was pretty fast. But I didn't have time to waste. I felt like she was the one.

"You ready, baby?" I asked her as she constantly checked herself out in the mirror.

Her baby bump was growing a bit quickly, but she always did manage to find a way to hide it. Even tonight, she was wearing a white mini dress and it hid her stomach pretty well.

"I am, but I'm just so nervous, baby!"

Nia hadn't been around my family at all. That's how much of a secret this was. People knew of her, but didn't know what she looked like.

"It'll be fine, babe. Everyone will love you, alright?"

She laughed softly. "It's not about loving me, because I honestly don't care. It's just springing all of this on people that don't know me?"

"What does that matter for? They won't be around you much," I told her honestly with a slight shrug.

My family wasn't the most tight knit in the world. I honestly think it had to do with my immediate family. People had problems with what happened to all of us as children and what we grew up to be. Shawn going from a drug dealer to a millionaire was probably the biggest slap in the face.

"All of your family coming down?" I asked, hoping to change the subject.

"Pretty much. My sister is probably the most excited about coming down," she explained.

"Did you tell her anything?"

Shaking her head, she went back to applying makeup. "Nope, but she did say she had some news for me, so it should be interesting."

"I invited Shaundra, too." The reason that Nia even got her job is because she was recommended by her sister, Shaundra. The two of them were close. When it came to Nia telling me stories about her sisters, it seemed like they were very close. It was very refreshing, you know?

After we finished getting dressed, we took the limo straight to the venue. Details were very important to me, so I made sure that we arrived early enough to make sure that everything was good. Nia and I planned this down to the slightest detail, so it had to be perfect. It was like planning a wedding.

We were having the event at 230 Fifth's. The place was everything we needed.

"Who is sitting at our table?" Nia asked as we were walking through the place.

"I guess Bey and Shawn." There were eleven people to a table, so they would have plenty of room to sit there and enjoy the dinner.

Shawn's POV

"I wish y'all would hurry up," I sighed from the living room of Bey's house. We were all going to Corey and Nia's little event today. Since Bey was bringing the boys, we figured that we'd go together. Since our last session, we've had two sessions together and then a few on our own. I can honestly say that we were finally moving forward.

"I know you not out there rushing me! Not me you not!" I heard Bey yell from her bedroom.

She finally came out with an orange tight ass dress on and the only thing I could do was stare.
