Watching him walk through the door made my heart throb and my body tingle. I could feel the mate bond, which meant my wolf appeared again. I looked him up and down, noticing that he was tearing himself apart. I wanted him to feel the regret and the pain that I felt. The pack have been angry with him. I waited for him to speak. His left arm lifted in the air, showing that he was holding roses in his hand; he laid them on the bed and slowly looked up at me.

"Nothing I do will ever have you forgive me, and I know that all the anger management classes and therapy classes I went through won't prove that I am changing and better who I am for you. But if you want to leave this territory and leave me, I will let you go. I will give you anything you want because I want you to be happy, and I am so sorry for how I treated you. You never deserved that." By the time he finished, tears were streaming down his face. He then turned around and started walking out the door.

"Alexis, I don't want to leave, but I don't want to forgive him for what he has done," I whispered.

"I am so happy that you don't want to leave. But my brother promised to make you happy in any way you choose. I would make him show you that he loves you and that he wants to be your mate. But it's up to your heart and what you decide you want. I'll be on your side." She kissed my forehead and left the room. I half smiled and couldn't believe what just happened. With everything going on, I didn't know what to do. My heart told me it was broken and that he needed to fix it. But my mind told me to leave this place and never return.

Dr. Pride walked into the room to check on how I was doing, and I told him that my wolf was back and he would discharge me. After an hour of talking about the medication and the ointment and when to come back for a checkup, I left the hospital. Walking to the pack house was a change for me. All the pack members heard that I was awake and allowed to come back, and they had a welcome home banner on the front door. I smiled at the members and went up to the alpha room, wanting to talk to him.

When I knocked on the door, I couldn't hear anything at all. Suddenly, the door swung open, and he stood there shirtless with scars and cuts all over his torso. It was the first time I saw his chest. I was utterly shocked. I gulped and tried to talk, but nothing came out.

"How can I help you, Olivia?" When he said my name in his husky voice, I almost melted.

"I've come to tell you I'm staying here. I also would like a room to stay in, preferably not your room." He nodded and walked out of the room to the door across from his. He opened the door and moved out of the way. I walked in and gasped.
