Still chained, Annabelle gave me another sedative to keep my wolf away. Soon, Lycidas will show up and tear her to shreds if I don't escape first. I couldn't count the days anymore as my mind stayed blurry, and I couldn't concentrate on getting Lycidas' help. Annabelle had complete control over me.

"I need to know how to kill him. Tell me where he's hiding it!?" Annabelle just seemed stressed and angry. She rambled on about something I didn't know about.

" I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about. " My voice came out raspy. She noticed the truth in my eyes, which only made her angrier.

She ripped the chains off quickly, trying to free me from the chair. I gasped from the pain the chain caused as it finally felt relieving that it wasn't there. She shook her head, not knowing what to do next. I couldn't answer her questions since I didn't have the answer. She scooped me up in her arms and quickly left the room. As Annabelle promptly walked down a dark hallway, I could faintly hear howls surrounding us.

Lycidas finally found me. Even in my dizzy state, I could feel other wolves starting to surround her; she cowered in fear, handing me over to someone. As I lazily looked up to see who was now holding me in their arms, Annabelle's screams filled the air. Lycidas held me close to his chest as he ran out of the building with pack members following behind him. I knew I'd be safe in his arms as I rested my eyes.

A monitor sounded through the room, ringing in my ears; my hand swung over to it next to me, trying to punch it. I wanted it to stop making sounds. My eyes slowly opened as a hand-held mine from the monitor. I blinked a few times, looking around; the room was completely white, and the hospital was all around the room. Lycidas stood tall next to me with bags underneath his eyes, a stubble beard growing, and messy hair, and he looked pretty pleasing to wake up to.

"You're finally awake. How are you feeling?" His voice was soft toward me, and I stared at him.

"So happy to see you at this moment." He leaned forward to kiss my forehead as a light sigh left my lips.

"I need to stop being in the hospital." I meant it as a slight joke, but he just shook his head.

"No more, I promise."
