Tonks' POV

I don't like talking about this.

I've refused to remember the event since it happened.

It took place just a few days after I had confessed my love to Remus.

Some of the members of the Order got a call from Sirius, worried sick. Harry had thought Voldemort was torturing my cousin so he had gone straight to the Ministry to save him. That act would have been so heroic under different circumstances... Sirius wasn't there. Harry had been fooled by Kreacher. This all resulted in his death, Sirius' death.

But hey, you're not here for a detailed description of how famous criminal Sirius Black met his end far away from a Dementor. You haven't stuck to this story after all this time just to hear once again his naive laugh as he fell through the veil, to picture Harry Potter's pain tearing up his face. And I'm not here to choke myself on tears by  bringing back those memories.

Either way, I missed half of what happened that night so I wouldn't have been able to retell it.

You see, I passed out.

And then I woke up.

And in that moment I had no idea.

But this man told me.

This man... messy brown hair, deep green eyes, worn out clothes; he had fallen asleep on a chair next to my bed in St Mungo's.

"Remus," I whispered to him. "Wake up!"

But he was way too exhausted to pay attention to my calls.

"Remus!" I repeated poking his head.

He finally raised his face.

"Dora, you're awake" he said, his voice surprisingly rough probably due to the long night he'd had; it matched perfectly his red, puffy eyes and the bags under them.

"Yes, of course I am," I replied. "A bit confused though..."

"Confused? Why?"

"Well, I just woke up in Saint Mungo's but can't remember having a reason to do so."

Remus sighed, the wooden chair creaking under him as he stood up.

"You got hurt during the mission," he yawned avoiding my gaze. "I brought you here after the whole thing broke off and... Hmm..."

"Hmm, what?" I spat curiously before I could even think of containing myself.

"Fell asleep waiting for you to wake up," he added blushing lightly. "Wasn't going to leave you here by yourself after such incident..."

"Oh." That was the only answer I gave as I noticed warmth was rushing through my cheeks too.

"And so... Now that you're... Back in you again," he spoke while fixing his tattered coat over his shoulders. "I must leave."

I had to stop him. There was no way I was letting him out of that door without him having heard what I had to say about certain eagles tickling my stomach every time he and I made eye contact. No more waiting, time to confess my feelings properly.
