Just as Amber put her foot on the first step she heard someone calling her name.
"Amber! Over here!"
She turned around to see her best and only friend, Cheryth.
"Hey!"
Amber automatically lightened as she scurried over to Cheryth's side.
" I was afraid I wasn't going to find you, there are so many people!"
"Yeah, I know!" Cheryth linked arms with Amber as they strolled through the entrance.
"What's your first class?"
Amber quickly looked at her schedule. "Hmmm, looks like I have Biology first. How about you?"
"I have Drama first but I know we have English together second period at least!"
"Okay cool, meet up second period then. At the cafeteria door?"
"Sure, see you then!"
Cheryth walked down a hallway lined with lockers away from Amber.
Biology, biology, hmm I can't seem to find it on my map. Amber looked around for a teacher or something.
"Hey, you seem lost, can I help you?"
I look up quickly surprised to hear someone talking to me. As I look into their face I widen my eyes.
"Brent? Hey yeah I'm looking for the biology room, not that you would want to help because my hair looks like a horses dirty tail. Right?"
" really, you still remember that? I'm sorry I ever said that. I was younger, and I must've been blind, because your hair looks amazing."
"Oh, um thanks." I blush and look down quickly. Wow, that was weird. Brent hated me in grade school. The dirty horse tail thing was just one of the thousands of rude names he called me. But now, he's actually being..... nice, sweet even.
"So, your looking for the biology room?"
I nod my head and look back into his face. He is a lot better looking then when I last saw him. The chubby little redhead covered in freckles was now taller then me, by a half a foot at least. He now has a perfect jawline and his freckles are barely noticeable. His hair darkened to more brown then red.
"I have biology first period too, so we could go together."
"Sure."
