When I walked out of class Brent jogged up to meet me.
"Hey, can I sit with you at lunch?"
"Sure! I'm meeting Cheryth at the cafeteria door, so you can go ahead and find us a table."
"Okay." He walked away into the swarming mass of teenagers.
Suddenly I felt a shove. As I struggled to maintain my footing, I heard a girl laughing. I turned around my face red. It was the girls I was sitting beside in biology class.
"Sorry, I didn't expect anything to be in my way the garbage was taken out last night."the girl with the streaked hair smirked as she finished her sentence. " I just wanted to let you know to stay away from Brent. I've been trying to get him to notice me the whole summer and your not going to ruin it for me." She flung her hair over her shoulder and strutted away, the girl with the shiny hair right behind.
" I see you already met Emily, and Mikaylin. I was just about to warn you about them."
Cheryth walked up to me quickly and put her arm through mine.
"Well, I wouldn't exactly say I met them, I'd more say I encountered them." Cheryth laughed with me as we walked into the cafeteria.
"Where are we going. To sit? This place is packed."
"Oh, Brent is saving us a table."
"Brent? Little chubby Brent?" Cheryth asked wrinkling her forehead.
"Oh, he is not little or chubby anymore!" Oh I'd say the quite opposite!" I smiled with a shimmer in my eye.
"Ooh, Amber are you falling for you childhood bully?" Cheryth laughed
" It's funny he isn't mean at all anymore and the way he looks at me and smiled, it makes me so happy I could scream!"
I looked around the cafeteria and finally spotted Brent waving at us. I waved back, grabbed Cheryth's hand and dragged her towards Brent.
But before I could take one step someone stepped in front of me and grabbed my hand.
