A/N: Yes! It's Monday, and I've smashed out a chapter. Well, more like half a chapter... Idk if the other half will be posted today or Thursday or somewhere in between. But it'll happen at some point, I promise. ANYWAY, I really hope you enjoy this chapter, it's probably a little different than what you were expecting but oh well... and now... OFF TO THE (half) CHAPTER!!

———

Not for the first time, I locked all the doors to the house, thinking that just maybe it would be enough. But even then I knew that if Xavier wanted to get in, he would, and there would be nothing I could do to stop him. I eventually fell into a restless sleep.

I woke up alone and in the dark. It wasn't cold, it was actually kind of hot. I stuck my hands out, feeling the area around me, but was forced to stop when I hit the wall above my head, barely a foot away. I tried to figure out where I was by feeling around, but mainly it was the noise that clued me in. It wasn't quiet, and it sounded like wind. Suddenly I was thrown into the air and I knew exactly where I was at. In Xavier's car. But he couldn't have put me in the backseat, no he put me in the fucking trunk. Anger boiled within me as I began to plan an attack. As soon as Xavier opened the trunk, I was going to punch him straight where the sun doesn't shine, then run for dear life. Not a great plan, I know, but it was better than nothing. A few minutes later, I felt the car roll to a complete stop, and then the engine was cut. I gulped and closed my eyes, trying to mentally prepare myself. When I opened them again, I was ready. About that time, the trunk opened. As soon as it was open wide enough, I saw my target, and aimed, putting as much force behind the punch as I could. As soon as contact was made, he groaned and I watched as he dropped to the ground. I scrambled out of the trunk and began running as fast as I could.

"Katherine! You're going to pay for that!" He yelled, causing fear to spike throughout my entire body. A part of me wanted to stop, go back, and pray he wouldn't be as angry as he would've been if I continued to run, but I shot down that part of me, and instead ran faster. The road was long and Xavier would easily catch me if I didn't do something. Barely even thinking about the consequences of my actions, I dove into the woods. I ran as far as I could, weaving around trees and fallen logs. Eventually I had to stop and rest for a moment. I looked around frantically for a tree with limbs low enough that I could reach them. I finally found one and quickly jumped up and began pulling myself up into the tree. I climbed up as far as I possibly could and tried to slow my breathing down, because hiding wouldn't do me any good if he could hear me. I was still breathing hard when I heard someone walking through the woods and muttering under their breath. I slapped my hand over my mouth and prayed he couldn't see me.

"Kat! I swear to god I'm going to kill you for this!" Xavier said, cursing my name. He was right under my tree. I closed my eyes and prayed he would keep walking. He didn't. The longer he stood there, the more I began to struggle to hold back my cries. He stood silently, I suppose listening for anything that would tell him where I was. I watched as he looked around the forest. I knew that he knew that it would be almost impossible to find someone in the woods, let alone in the woods at night, when the only light is from the moon. Relief washed through me as this realization hit home. Then I began to slip. Relaxing had caused my foot to slide off the small space I was standing on. I threw my arms around the trunk of the tree, holding on as I tried to pull my foot back up, but it had gotten stuck between the trunk and a branch. Fuck! I thought to myself. Then, I decided to see if Xavier had noticed. I looked down to see him smirking up at me from the base of the tree.

"Kat, Kat, Kat... what am I going to do with you?" He said while laughing, but I could sense the anger rolling off him.

"You could just leave me here." I suggested sarcastically, knowing he wouldn't. He glared at me before grabbing the bottom branch and pulled himself on top of it. I panicked, realizing that he was going to come up to get me down. I began frantically trying to free my foot, finally managing to jerk it out when he was halfway up the tree. I had to get out of the tree, but the only thing I could do was jump, so I did. I took a deep breath and jumped out of the tree. I hit the ground hard. I cried out as my ankle rolled underneath me, but I managed to push through the pain and begin running again. Well, if you could even call it that. I knew that I couldn't get far in this state, but I ran anyway. Barely two seconds later, Xavier crashed into me, sending me straight to the ground. He flipped me over and pinned my arms above my head. He smirked, but I knew he was mad by the unnecessary pressure he was putting on my wrists. I tried to get free, even knowing that there was no way I could. I pushed my hips up, trying to throw him off, but it wasn't until his gaze darkened did I realize what I had done.

"Don't be a tease Katherine. Teases get punished, and I'm sure you won't be able to handle the punishment you are already going to receive, let alone extra." I gulped at the warning and immediately grew still under him. "That's better." He quickly got up and pulled me up with him. Holding my wrists behind my back, he began pushing me back the way I had come, back to the house. He kept me in front of him the whole time, not taking his eyes off me as we made our way back.
