I ran. I ran and I kept running until I was back at the hotel. Being in LA didn't stop me from knowing exactly where I was going. I'd been "stationed" enough places my whole life to know the basic layout of every town. Big or small. Plus before I went anywhere I made sure to know where everything was and how to navigate through it.

I entered the hotel through the back entrance like we had done since we got here and found my way to the room. When your boss is the President of the United States you are able to stay anywhere, anytime without anyone knowing. I closed the door quietly behind me and leaned against it with a deep sigh. I had just ran several miles yet I wasn't the least bit sweaty or out of breath. I guess thats what happens when you've spent nearly half your life as if you were in bootcamp every single day. To this day I get up at the crack of dawn every morning no matter how late I was forced to stay up the night before. In fact, sometimes I would go days without sleeping at all just to get a mark.

I couldn't help but let a smile spread across my lips. At the same time I was running to the bathroom afraid I was about to throw my guts up.

"Chloe?" A voice called upon entering the room. I straightened myself up very quickly, looking in the mirror to make sure it wasn't apparent that I was sure I was going to be sick only two seconds ago.

"Blaze? What are you doing here?" I questioned once he reached the open bathroom.

"Me? What are you doing here? You just took off from the dance," he had me there. And even though I had been trained to get myself out of answering such questions I knew Blaze would see it coming a mile away so it was of no use.

"I just wasn't really enjoying myself is all," I lied through my teeth. That was a mistake as well because even though I was a professional liar, Blaze was also a professional lie detector.

"I saw you with that boy," he pointed a finger at me, "so at least try and come up with a convincing lie."

"I'm serious," I huffed walking past him to the small living room of the condensed place, "He wasn't really my type."
