Macgyver pov

"You mean to tell me that the crazy, psychopathic, assassin not only unlocked your cage but she convinced psychopath number two in there to not put a bullet between your eyes?" Jack asked with a growl of a tone but at the same time he seemed pleased.

"Trust me," I said, "I've been trying to wrap my mind around it myself."

"Then you were able to convince her not to kill Jeremiah," Riley added.

"Correct me if I'm wrong but psychopaths aren't easily talked out of killing people. Especially when they've already set in their mind that they're going to," Bozer said.

We all stood around the war room now and everyone was adding their part to the conversation, except Matty. I looked down at the woman and she seemed to be deep in thought.

"Matty?" I questioned. She looked up to me with a serious face before she spoke.

"I think we were right when we first caught this girl," my boss finally said, "she's not a psychopath. She's been trained, professionally."

"So then this Jeremiah guy is telling the truth," Riley said, "she's an assassin."

"Which means she works for someone," Matty nodded.

"So we could be looking at something bigger than one assassin," Jack said with his arms crossed over his chest, "this could be an entire organization for all we know."

We all stood there looking at one another taking in the words that were just spoken. Little did we know at the time just how right we were.

Chloe pov

"Next time you go and get yourself kidnapped, at least try to protect the money maker," Hayden said pressing an ice pack against my face. Jeremiah had done a fine job of leaving a bruise down the entire left side of my face from slamming me into the cell bars.

"Thanks Hay," I chuckled, "I'll keep that in mind."

There wasn't enough time for her to respond to me before the door burst open and a familiar brown haired boy stormed inside.

"What the hell were you thinking!" Blaze shouted at me.

"Well hello to you too," I said rolling my eyes at him.

"You're lucky Jeremiah didn't kill you before you got the jump on him," he shook a finger at me like an overprotective brother.

"Why does it matter now?" Hayden questioned, "Jeremiah is taken care of thanks to Chloe."

Blaze stood there for a moment with his arms crossed. I lowered the ice pack from my face to basically just glare at him.

"Jeez, Chlo," Tommy came into the room. He took my chin in his hand and pulled it up to see it better, "New York sure wasn't nice to you."

"She found Jeremiah," Blaze said bluntly.

"You did what?" Tommy's eyebrows rose in surprise.

"Technically he found me," I told him setting the record straight.

"But it's okay," Hayden came up wrapping her arms around her boyfriend, "Chloe took care of him."

"Took care of him how?" Tommy ruffled his eyebrows now looking at me oddly.

"He's dead," Blaze shot out before I could say anything. There was no emotion on his face as he just turned on his heals and left the room.

"So he's gone?" Tommy said in disbelief.

"For good," I nodded.

That part wasn't a lie. He was put away and Macgyver had assured me it would be for good. But I couldn't tell my team that. It was better if they and my boss thought he was dead.

Hayden and Tommy kissed each other in celebration. I just couldn't figure out why Blaze wasn't happy. Not that he showed emotions a lot but I thought he would at least be happy about this. Yes, it was kinda bitter sweet. And maybe that was Blaze's problem.

Jeremiah was once part of our team. Before Tommy and Hayden became a part of it. It was originally Blaze, Jeremiah, and me. Blaze and Jeremiah were great friends. Actually it wasn't until Jeremiah's betrayal that Blaze shut down like he did.

That was years ago when we were still young. We never really knew why he did what he did but there was nothing we could do to get him back. Our Boss had us hunting him down after that. At first it was hard, but after a while it became easier and easier. Especially after he started coming after us. He'd tried taking us out several times but failed.

I felt bad lying to my team but it was better than trying to explain the whole Macgyver thing to them. I just hoped the truth never got out.

Author's Note:

Y'all! I am so incredibly sorry! Its been nearly a year since I updated this! So I definitely wouldn't blame you if you were totally over this story. I'll be honest, in finishing my other fic and starting the second one on that, I forgot about this story. But I don't want to neglect it any longer!

Hopefully I can start writing on both stories and keep updating them together.

Also side note about this story, when I started it Cage was in it... Yeah we can just forget she was ever present. I thought about going back and editing her out of it but then decided I don't currently have the time to do that so I'm not going to.

I know this chapter was short but I wanted to update for y'all and let y'all know that I'm back! This story isn't going to be near as long as my other fic (which you should check out if you haven't already) but I hope y'all still enjoy it!

Much love y'all!
