Chapter 2 - Sleeping Beauty is Taking Off Without Garfield!"Annnnd, we're up!"
I groaned and shoved my face into my pillow.
A huge body instantly leapt on top of me and started shoving me so my whole bed was shaking, and I let out a growl. But before I could speak, the person crooned, "Wakey wakey Sleeping Beauty. We have 20 minutes until take off."
Those sentences make absolutely no sense together, but I decided to ignore the fact he mixed a fairytale with... something else. I also decided that in this circumstance, it would be a very wise idea to listen to that old proverb that ruled my life. Offence is the best defence. With a few moves and twists, in the span of a second I am on top of my idiotic brother.
Enzo let out a cry of shock as I straddled him, pressing my arm against his throat while holding his hands far away from me. I sighed at him. "You really should've learnt Enzo. I get cranky if I sleep. Very cranky."
He smirked at me. "Oh I know. That's what makes this so fun!"
I rolled my eyes, something I do a lot around my brother, and slowly get off him. "And also, I only sleep three days of the week. You should be Sleeping Beauty."
He grinned at me. "Right, because you already have your nickname, my darling Garfield." Ah, that nickname. Enzo had called me it since we were kids, because apparently I eat as much as Garfield, but I really don't think I eat that much. "How are you feeling?"
I scrunched up my nose. "Since when do you care?"
He sighed. "I told dad I'm not a good actor. But he refused to listen to me. And now you caught me lying. My perfectness has been ruined."
I snorted, rolling off my bed and groaned as I landed on the floor. Enzo shuffled to the edge of the bed and looked down at me, a bored smile playing on his lips. "Don't you dare say a word if you value your life," I warned him, slowly sitting up and trying to wipe the grogginess from my head internally.
Enzo sighed. "Fine." After a moment, he snorted. "But seriously, you should know by now you can't immediately stand after you sleep. You have to take it nice and easy."
"Shut up," I growled, grinding my teeth as I stood and stabled myself against my bed post. I walked over to my walk in closet and quickly flicked through my clothes.
"No, but actually, how are you feeling? Your first day of school ever."
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not that fussed about it." I sighed. "I just wish there wasn't that stupid rule of dad's and that I could stay here and homeschool."
Enzo snorted. "Why?"
I turned to look at him as he laid on his back, staring at my ceiling. "You don't miss your friends at all? Ben? Ryan? Calum?"
He exhaled deeply, running a hand through his perfect hair. "Sure I do. But you make great friends at school as well, Calla. It's not like you will never see your friends again. The only reason I don't is because we're all too lazy. Girls are better at that kinds of stuff. You can still be friends with Amelia, Felicity and Phoebe."
I raised an eyebrow. "Not Jasmine?"
Jasmine was one of my four closest friends, but she had a thing for Enzo, and it annoyed him like heck.
He groaned. "Please no. You can lose her."
I laughed, finally picking out a singlet and shorts with a sports jumper that I tie around my waist. I also added white converse and did my hair in my classic fishtail braid which goes from the top left side of my head and falls down my shoulder. I closed the door and change, and when I came out, Enzo was gone.
