"You're a hybrid"

Dylan told me about an hour ago. When he told me I walked away.

I just can't believe that he would betray me like this. I mean I should be the first person he goes to when he hears that I'm a hybrid.

After storming off I went somewhere quiet to think.

Now I'm in the woods.

I still don't know how to process everything, honestly I don't really know what it means either.

I heard that a hybrid is half vampire, half werewolf. But I'm neither of those things so I don't know what I am.

It's starting to get dark so I should probably go back. I'm mad at Dylan for not telling me, but I'm not mad enough to sleep in the woods.

I got up from the rock that I was sitting on before looking around.

Okay I think I'm lost.

Which way did I come into the woods from?

Oh no.

Panic started to rise within me taking over all my senses.

I sat back down trying to calm myself down.

I rested my head in my hands closing my eyes.

This is no use!!

I sigh snapping my head back up.

I gasped looking around seeing that everything around me is on fire.

Did I do that?

My grandmother told me that when my magic gets out of control to focus on my breathing, so I did just that.

Pretty soon all of the flames were gone and it was like nothing ever happened.

Magic makes me feel amazing, like I'm totally in control.

I feel like I can do anything.

I hear the sound of twigs cracking, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I look up coming face to face with Rebecca.

"Rebecca!!! Oh my god you're okay!!" I stood running over to her.

I stopped dead in my tracks noticing why she came here.

I look to the ground seeing my grandma lying on the ground in a pool of her own blood.

At first I wanted to cry, but the sadness quickly turned into rage.

"Listen to me Gabi, it was Jessica. She killed her and I think she wants to kill you too. Don't let her control you, she can't control you. I have to go before you kill me, I know that look." Rebecca stated quickly before disappearing into thin air.

Next thing I knew Jessica was in front of me.

The rage was building.

By now the whole woods was engulfed in flames.

I was face to face with Jessica and I could see the fear in her face before I ripped her heart out.

Jessica was dead.

I wasn't upset, she should've died the day she was turned into a vampire.

The rage must've still been there because when Rebecca showed up trying to comfort me, I snapped her neck without a blink.

Right when I snapped Rebecca's neck my head started to burn, like my blood was literally boiling.

It hurt so bad!

I yelled out falling to the ground.

Before I could even realize that it was happening my body started to shake and everything went black.

"Dylan you had one job! Keep the girl in the house. You couldn't just do that one thing!" I heard April yell at Dylan.

I sat up holding my head and feeling a bump from the fall.

Dylan and April shot their heads toward me. Dylan's face softened seeing that I was awake.

"Hey Red. Hard fall?" Dylan said chuckling before walking over to the couch I was on and sitting next to me.

"What happened out there?" He asked while stroking my hair softly.

"T-They killed her Dylan. I was mad. I-I was really mad." I said while tears started to brim my eyes as I realized what I did.

"Shhh. Hey, it's okay. I'm right here sweetheart, I can help you. I promise." Dylan whispered into my ear softly.

"Dylan. I feel weird. Something happened after I killed Rebecca. Is it because she's a witch?" I asked looking up at him.

Dylan sighed looking into my eyes for a second then looking away again.

"Gabi. I really didn't want to be the one to tell you this-"

"Dylan. What's going on?" I cut him off.

Dylan grabbed my hand interlocking our fingers.

"Okay. You ran out on me earlier before I could tell you." He sighed tightening his grip on my hand.

"Your father was descended from a werewolf bloodline, which is what makes you a hybrid. But your werewolf side needed to be triggered for you to be a real hybrid. To trigger the werewolf curse you must kill." He said hesitantly.

"But why didn't it happen when I killed Jessica?" I asked.

"She was dead already. Technically." Dylan explained.

"So, what happens now?" I asked.

"Well I'm not really sure. I guess we'll have to wait until the next full moon. But don't worry, I have people coming in to train you." Dylan said standing up.

"Gabriella, I'm truly sorry for your grandmother. I sent her to look for you because I knew she could talk to you. It's my fault." Dylan said with a hurt expression on his face.

I got up walking over to him.

I pulled him into a hug.

It was wrong.

I know.

It just felt right.

It felt....

Safe.

"Thank you." I whispered.

"It's not your fault, you were looking out for me. I really appreciate it." I said pulling away from our hug.

Dylan smiled and grabbed my hand leading me to my bedroom.

"You should sleep. It's been a long day." Dylan said kissing my forehead and walking towards the door.

"Dylan" I said barely above a whisper.

He turned around looking at me.

"Will you stay with me?"
