Taeyong was estastic. After days of constant visits, and small talk, he finally got Jennie Kim to go on a 'date' with him. A date was a human construct he's read in a book somewhere before. According to the book, humans use it to make sure that they're making the right choice for their future mate, so he knew that this could make it or break it.
He stood outside the cafe she worked at, agreeing to have dinner with her when her shift ended. Taeyong didn't have to wait long as the glass door opened, a short girl with marvelously long hair strutting her way out of the store with her face burried into her turtleneck, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have kept you in the cold so long," she apologized, shivering despite her thick jacket.
"No, it's fine. Adrenaline is pumping through me right now, so I'm fine."
She raised an eyebrow and smirked beneath the clothe covering her mouth, "you like me that much, huh?"
"More than you could imagine," he answered truthfully, garnering the response of a shy giggle and red stained cheeks.
"You're so cheesy," Jennie mumbled under her breathe, watching as Taeyong moved beside her, sticking his arm out to her as a gesture to hold on to him.
Of course she was a bit skeptical of it at first, but then a cold wind blew past her and she realized that more heat was what she needed at the moment. Slowly wrapping her arms around his, he smiled to himself. Has he ever been happier?
"Shall we then?" he asked, to which she nodded, "let's go then." Hailing a cab (something he learned to do by watching other people do it), they stepped into the back seat with Taeyong reciting the address of the place he had reservations at. He found out quickly that living on Earth means spending money. Remembering the first time he rode in a cab, he shuddered in his seat. How was he supposed to know he had to pay for the ride? In the midst of the taxi driver yelling at him angerly, Taeyong decided to just erase the memory from his mind, replacing it with one where he actually gave his payment.
Sure, it probably wasn't the best thing to do, but he panicked, ok? It was overpriced, anyway. This time, however, he made sure he had enough money. On Earth, the female is the male's responsibility; especially when courting.
Taeyong silently thanked the scribe who worked on that book. Without it, he probably wouldn't have made it this far, "so, where are we going?"
"I overheard some people talking about this popular restaurant that serves good food and a lot of it, at that. Apparently, it's always really packed, so reservations are a must."
"How long have you been planning this," Jennie inquired curiously, peering up at him through her eyelashes.
"Maybe since last week? Or two weeks ago? I don't know, lost track of time."
"Wow," she voiced, sitting upright to face him properly, "you already made the reservation even though you only asked me out two days ago?" She quinted her eyes at him, pouting slightly, "you seem a bit too good at this for your 'first date'."
He laughed as she scrutinised him, "seriously, I've been single all my life and this is my first date. I just thought, well even if she said no, I could go by myself and rub it in her face that I got to eat good food and she didn't."
She gasped dramatically, placing a hand on her chest, "Lee Taeyong, how could you!"
He could only smile, admiring the reason he came down to this evil world. He could, if he wanted to, take her up with him into Olympus where she'll be treated like the royalty she is; but that's really the last thing he wants. He'd much rather stay on Earth, growing old with her, having children to love and love him back. He wanted a family less distant and normal. He wants happiness.
