(I uploaded TWO chapters: 17.5 and 18. Thanks!)

"You know," Seulgi began, flipping her hair over her shoulder, "I don't think this is a very good idea."
"You think none of my ideas are good, Peitho."
"Because they're not! What are you even doing here!"
"I heard Apollo is in love and I wanted to see for myself-"
"Eros." She called, "don't you dare ruin this for him."
His pale eyes darkened, face suddenly serious. "Whatever could you mean, sister? Can't I give my best regards to a fellow god?"
"Eros, I know you. I know you're at Zeus' every beck and call. He put you up to this didn't he?"
"Once again, I have no idea-"
"Eros!" She snapped, briefly forgetting to maintain her mortal body; golden eyes peaking out from behind her lashes.
The god of love paused, staring at his sister with furrowed brows. He seemed to consider something, looking back and forth between her eyes. With a click of his tongue, he relented, "our future King can't just abandon his inheritance for love," he deadpanned, choosing to lean on the nearest wall.
Seulgi scoffed. "Like hell he can't. Eros! You're the god of love. You should be happy for him! You've always said that the sweetest love is the one you didn't have a hand in."
Pausing for a moment, he silently tapped his fingers on his arm, fixing his gaze on Seulgi. "Who said I didn't?"
"...What?"
"You're not the only one who has the freedom to roam around this planet, Peitho."
"Are you telling me that you're the one that-- that they're not really...?"
Eros smirked. "Well I'll be. I've seemed to have made Peitho speechless."

Rosé danced around the kitchen, singing along to the stereo sitting on the countertop. She thankfully didn't have to work any shifts and chose to sleep in a bit later. "Alexa, skip this song," she called out, coming back to the stove top. Technology never ceased to amaze her. The evolution of the human mind interested her to no end; excitedly waiting for the day they figure out how to surpass their own capabilities.
She remembered that Zeus had not taken well to their advancements; afraid they'd rise up and defeat him in moments time.
And maybe that wasn't such a bad thing: humans rising up to surpass the gods. It would be the last test of their creation; proof that what they made could overcome any obstacle they were to face.
But Zeus felt... threatened by them. So, he took a precaution: He made them mortal. It was a cowardly move on his part, but he did succeed in slowing down their evolution. He couldn't stop it, though. Humans learned how to write; how to document things they found interesting or things they discover.
It wasn't until they bagan to understand the natural world around them that they made big steps towards greatness. The discovery of the thing they called science broke convention and made them look at things from a logical perspective. In turn, they abandoned their gods.
Rosé was one of them.
The gods, instead of being real, became mythology.
This small, little fact became a protective blanket for humankind as a surprising consequence. Zeus believed that if they didn't know about them, they wouldn't find the insentive to defeat them because to humans, they weren't real.
And so, he let them grow and expand. It was a decision Rosé will always be grateful for.
Her music came to a sudden halt as the small machine notified her that someone was calling her. "Hello?" she called, waiting for a response.
"Oh hey, Rosie."
"Did you need something, Jen?"
"Um, yes." She paused for a second, "do you have work today?"
"No. Why?"
"Well, Taeyong and I were going to meet up with Jisoo later to, ya' know, talk and I can't take my brother with me. I was wondering if you can watch over him and his friend for a bit."
"Him and his friend?"
"Yes. That is... if it's ok."
Rosé hummed, placing her food on a plate. She really didn't have anything to do that day. And she really did love children. "I'm down. What time are you bringing them over?"
"Oh my gosh, thank you so much. I'll buy you food one day." She laughed, the anxiousness that was present in her voice disappearing. "We'll be there at around three in the afternoon. Just text me your address, please."
"Ok. Hopefully your talk with Jisoo goes well."
"Thank you so much, Rosé"
"Of course."
"Later."
"Bye."
The call ended; music filling up the kitchen walls once again.

Hey guys! I'm back!
So I wrote two chapters because I started the other one and realised it had nothing to do with the story. But, I had already written so much that I didn't want to change anything. Hopefully with the direction this is currently going, I'll be able to write more.
Also, Eros is NOT Ares' son in this version. Greek mythology is really cool in the sense that there are so many iterations of one thing and Eros just being Aphrodite's son is one of them.
I also kinda made up the whole Zeus and mortal thing. You know, for plot.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed!
