"They escaped. They f*cking escaped," a man mumbled to himself, nearly throwing the glass of whiskey in his hands. He would have if it wasn't for the sleeping child in the house. He took a deep breathe. It didn't make any sense. He had done everything that man told him, but how did they both escape? The rope should've drained their powers, the mesh should've trapped them, they couldn't have possibly done it by themselves.

Was it his daughter? His little angel, Hana?

No it couldn't be, she was far too small. She wouldn't be able to pull of the metal mesh.

So how?

How did two gods growing weaker everyday suddenly have enough strength to remove the restraints specifically made for them?

What was strange as well, he was missing a photo of him and his daughter; disappeared along with the two goddess'. He hadn't noticed it was gone at first, only realizing so when he went to reach for it in his pockets, wanting to remind himself who he was doing this for.

He wasn't a horrible man.

He was just a desperate man.

Yuta tried to fit in. In all honesty, he doesn't even know why he's here, sitting in Joy's living room even though he didn't know her. Was he even needed anymore? Who knows? "What is this?" Jisoo's voice snapped him out of his revere.

"Huh?"

"What is it? Why has this phone thing turned into a mirror?" this had been his life for the past two days, explaining things that Jisoo didn't know. He didn't mind though, he honestly found it kind of adorable.

"Oh, that's because you opened the camera app."

"Ooh! The thing you take pictures with, correct?" Yuta merely nodded as Jisoo held the device in her hand, "humans are really amazing. You can do so many things with this one device."

Yuta shrugged, "I guess, but I don't think it can beat having magic. Life would become so much easier."

"Why do you say that?" Jisoo had twisted her body to face him, intent on hearing what he had to say.

"Well, for starters, it'd be very beneficial to the military. It'll also be very convenient in self defense and travel, as well as-"

"Do you want magic for yourself?"

"What?" Yuta made eye contact with the goddess, scrunching up his eyebrows. He tilted his head in thought, "well, I don't know, maybe? Maybe not?"

"But you just said it'd be very convenient to have it."

"I guess, but then I'd always have a target on my back if it's revealed. And if it isn't revealed, I'd have to live and die with a huge secret." Yuta shrugged, leaning back on the chair, "everything has it's pros and cons."

"I see." Jisoo thought for a moment, pursing her lips and furrowing her eyebrows in an all too endearing way, "It'd still be cool, though."

Yuta laughed at this, a first in her presence, "yeah, I guess it would be."

"Hey, you two," both heads turned towards the group who had all started standing up. They had been talking to Joy about different topics that neither seemed to really pay attention to, "let's go."

"Is Ten here?"

"Just down stairs, I told him not to come up," Rosé answered, waving her hand in front of her.

"I can take a guess as to why-"

"Seulgi. Shush." Rosé turned her head to the side to snap at Seulgi, who, in return, brought her hands up to her face in an attempt to protect herself from what she thought was incoming, "Also, please refrain from telling him about my slip up," she whispered loudly, gesturing towards Lisa.

"Sure, but you better make sure to keep Joy away. She'll never let him live this down," Lisa answered back, behind Seulgi, giggling behind her hand. She really didn't mind Rosé's slip up; not like anyone got hurt.

"Well," Jisoo turned to Yuta, bringing her hand out in front of her, "till next time."

He took her hand, grasping it firmly in his, "if there is one."

Jisoo merely smiled, rising from her seat, "you never know." Yuta stood after her, only heading out the door once everyone else had.

"Jaehyun!" he turned around at the sound of his name, glancing over his shoulder to the girl running up to him, "you're staying with Jungkook for a while, right?"

"Mhm. He says he's gonna help me with this slight problem of mine," he gestured to his eyes, and faced her, "so what's up?"

"Well," she started, pulling something out of her pocket, "I forgot to give this to you or Yuta earlier since it was so chaotic, but, I think this could help you guys a great deal with your investigation." She handed him a a small piece of smooth paper that had been folded in half.

He raised an eyebrow at her as she sauntered off towards Lisa who had been standing quite awkwardly next to her brother. He unfolded the paper and was met with two faces: one of a small girl (who was identified with a sharpie) as 'Hana' and a man, who he assumed to be her father, that was labeled 'Culprit'.

Jaehyun clutched the photo in his hand while his jaw hung loosley on his face. This wasn't just some family photo, this was very clearly the person he had been struggling to look for for the longest time, but that wasn't what surprised him.

That face. It was so unmistakably familiar that he had to wrack his brain for the answer. Where, exactly, has he seen this man? Was he in one of the investigations conducted for this particular case? No, he couldn't have been, that would have been too simple.

Jaehyun barely realized what exactly was happening around him until his thoughts were cut off by Jungkook nudging him and telling him that they were already at their destination. His phone dinged in his hand, stealing away his attention. He had sent a picture to Yuta, asking if the man had also seemed familar to him.

And he got his response.

How could he forget?

This was the husband of a woman who disappeared in the middle of one if the busiest streets in the city, still missing till this day. This was the father of a little girl who had a rare condition that was slowly eating away at her health.

But who could ever suspect him? He was so loving and kind. Had they failed to realize the desperation in his eyes whenever he asked for help?

Maybe it was their fault then.

Maybe it was their fault that this man, Lee Donghae, had to take matter into his own hands.

HAHAHA YA'LL THANKS FOR BEING TO PATIENT. Honestly, I was just having a big ass writer's block. In the meantime, I am reading all the Harry Potter books (not that that's important at all lmao)

But really, thanks for all the love you guys show for this story. It's honestly so much.
