Chapter 30

Making sure I had everything I needed I headed out to the airport. "Ma I'm leaving, won't be back until next week."

She nodded. "Okay don't go down there starting trouble Jaycean."

"I'm not I promise."

"Alright tell my son in-law congratulations."

Making it to the airport I was beyond terrified since I was by myself. Sitting on the plane I couldn't stop shaking.

"First time on a plane." A boy asked sitting next to me.

I shook my head no. "Third time actually. I just don't like them."

He nodded and held out his hand. "I usually pray before every flight."

Looking at him I slowly took his hand. Leading the prayer I closed my eyes listening. After he was done he smiled towards me.

"Feel better." He asked making me look back towards him.

"No." I replied immediately.

We ended up having a good conversation the entire flight. It was such a grown-up convo but he looked so much like a kid.

I eyed him. "How old are you."

He chuckled. "Seventeen."

I stopped in my tracks throwing my head back. "Aw hell nah, you'sa baybeh."

He started laughing while shrugging. "Age ain't nothing but a number."

I scoffed playfully. "Jail ain't nothing but a room homie."

He sighed. "So that means I can't get yo number."

I scrunched up my face. "Well ion know, ion really like jail."

"You only five years older."

I laughed. "Listen yungin' if I end up seeing you again then I'll possibly give it to you."

Getting in my car I went ahead and booked me a room since I didn't want no one to know I was here.

Picking out an outfit for tonight I decided to go ahead and catch up on my sleep.

The time was going on nine and the grand opening started at eight. Everybody was already at the party having a good time except for the girls who was mad at Carter for bringing Veronica.

"I've been calling Day 1 all day and she not even answering." Amore' complained while they mugged Veronica.

She was walking around holding onto his arm like she was his girl.

Carter went up on stage with Veronica in tow to address his guests.

"Aye y'all wassup, wassup." He called out to the audience as they cheered.

"I wanna thank all of y'all for coming out and supporting the team and I." He continued as Jaycean walked in instinctly mugging at the sight of Veronica and Carter.

Walking over towards the drinks she poured her a cup of Hennessey still not being noticed she sat in the back watching everything play out.

"If y'all want, there are books floating around with a bunch of tattoo ideas and shit then y'all could book y'all shit and go ahead and come back tomorrow."

Everybody cheered again as Jay watched Veronica rub her hands up and down Carter arms. She was smiling hard like they were the biggest power couple.

"Continue to mingle and shit while I talk with my team."
