Nothing's Wrong

It's been a bit over a week since the whole incident at Alex's party. I'm still a little shaken up about it, but I try to push those thoughts out of my mind the best I can. I've spoken to Gerald only a handful of times since the day after, and that's okay I guess. Things happen.

I'm meeting Alex at a small diner in West Hollywood for lunch at noon. It's nearly 10:40 and I've yet to get out of bed. My thoughts just keep racing. "Maybe Gerald's trying to back out." I sigh heavily, turning over on my side and reaching for my phone.

Gerald- 3 new messages. I sit up a bit more, feeling my pulse quicken. I can feel the excitement building up in me, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Gerald @ 10:23 A.M: Hey Lily. Please don't be upset with me, things have been crazy recently and I've barely had anytime to stop and breathe.
Gerald @ 10:24 A.M: I promise you I'm not blowing you off. Let me make it up to you.
Gerald @ 10:24 A.M: Dinner tonight? I'll pick you up at 7

I smile, falling back into my pillows with a sigh of relief. "I really need to not worry about stupid shit."

Lily @ 10:47 A.M: Sounds like a plan!

I push myself up out of bed, groaning at the thought of having to get up and out into the real world. I head to my closet, grabbing a pair of ripped jeans and a Stanford sweatshirt. "Cute enough to be out in public in, casual enough for lunch." I quickly put on my clothes, do a basic "no-makeup" makeup look, throw my hair up in a bun, and head out the door.

Neil has the day off today, so I'm on my own. I like driving for the most part. Except bad drivers really piss me off. For someone who always try's to be nice, road rage (although it's more of a brief anger) is my weakness.

I eventually get to the diner a little after twelve. I walk in and scan the room until my eyes land on Alex. He's sitting in a booth in the far right corner. Two of his body guards are one table over from him. I walk over to Alex's booth, sitting across from him.

"Hey Lily!! How are you? I haven't heard much out of you since that night." "I'm good. It was just..." I sigh, setting my phone and clutch down on the table. He furrows his eyebrows in worry. "It's alright, Lily. I'm glad G was there to stop that guy. Has he been alright with you? Me and the rest of the guys have been worried, you know how much we care about you." I smile, letting out a small laugh. "He's been great, Alex. Perfect gentleman. If he does anything wrong, you guys will be the first to know." "We better be." Alex pauses, "We'll fuck him up if we need to."

We continue our friendly banter just like we used to. It's like we weren't  celebrities living in L.A, we were just teenagers back in Illinois gossiping about the latest dramas and telling stupid jokes.

We were at the diner for nearly two hours, laughing and having fun. We eventually said our goodbyes and parted ways.

I headed back out to run a few errands before I needed to go home and get ready for my date.
