My dearest Onyx,

I apologise for not having written you in weeks, as there have been many matters I must attend to now that I am a professor, one of them being your troublesome niece. Last week she accidentally flooded the classroom during our lesson about Grindylows (though the situation was contained, the girl merely grinned apologetically and assured me that it would have been much worse if the floor were carpet). But, I'm not writing to get her in trouble, seeing as her actions reminded me of what James managed to do in our sixth year, and instead left me rather amused. Instead, I write you in warning, as I am sure you are aware that Padfoot has escaped.

I contacted you the last time he attacked Hogwarts, and now I contact you again, this time in desperation. While Dumbledore and Snape are unsure of how he managed to enter the castle, unfortunately I have my suspicions, which is why I find myself in a rut. Tonight I received word that he broke into the Gryffindor Common Room after swiping the passwords. I worry whether or not I should consult with Dumbledore, seeing as he may cause young Harry and his friend harm. But, I do not wish to reveal the Marauders' secret without your permission. Though you always insisted you weren't one of us, you and I both know you were. You were there for me in Third year when Prongs proposed the idea of transforming for my sake, and remained loyal to us in fifth year when you managed to succeed.

You are the only person I can comfortably communicate with without much concern, seeing as you have managed to stay out of the wandering eyes of the dark arts. But, I call for you urgently. For the safety of Harry, Tara and the rest of the students at Hogwarts, please write back or journey to visit me and figure out how to deal with Padfoot and his desperate desire to kill again. I am aware that this effects you greatly due to your past, but I would not ask for your help if I wasn't in dire need of it. You always knew what to do in times of trouble, so please return for my sake. And if not for mine, for the safety of your niece and James' child.

All my love,
Moony.
