        I hate the cold!

I curl up tighter, pressing my back further into the wooden railing, trying to hold in some morsel of heat. My body shivers harshly against my will. The ninja gi Sensei Wu provided me fails to help hold any warmth. All I can feel is the unforgiving bite of the bitter cold. This is absolute torture.

"I spy something... white," Jay says.

        "S-S-Snow?" My teeth chatter.

Jay gasps, "How are you so good at this?!"

I'm really not, there just isn't much to see. I let my gaze wander to the glaciers on either side of the boat. The ice reflects the dull light from the cloudy sky. Chunks of smaller ice float by the boat, bouncing against its hull harmlessly. Beautiful white snowflakes fall steadily from the clouds above. I had found this place awe inspiring when we first entered the pass in the glaciers, but now the chilly temperatures make me yearn for the warm monastery. Why did the Shurikens of Ice need to be in the middle of a winter wonderland?

"Okay, Mira. Your turn!" Jay smiles.

Cole groans in annoyance, taking one hand off the wheel. "Can you try to be quiet for once? This ain't easy." Suddenly, the ship jerks as it collided with something. The horrendous sound of scraping wood and groans of the ship echo off the glacier walls. I squeak in fear and nearly fall over as the ship gives a final shudder before it sails evenly again.

"E-Eyes on the water, p-please!" I exclaim in my soft, chattering voice.

"Sorry," Cole focuses back on the water ahead, avoiding more large chunks of ice.

"Ugh... I spy something... broken," Jay commented.

I violently shiver, scrambling back to my spot where I had started to warm the wood. I hug my knees to my chest and exhale into my hood, feeling my warm breath heat up my covered face.

"Are you alright, Mira? You're shivering like a leaf," Jay asked in concern.

"I'm f-fine, just c-c-cold," I hug myself tighter. I peer up at the blue ninja, "How a-are you n-not cold?"

"I thought it was the ninja gi keeping me from shivering," Jay raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Mira must not be able to handle the cold as well as us," Cole spoke up. He cast a worried look over to me. "Think you'll be alright?"

I nodded, "I just h-h-hope the Sh-Shirikens are close."

A chilly breeze brings Kai's exasperated sigh with it, causing me to look to the red ninja rubbing his hands together. "If Sensei knows the way to the next Golden Weapon, why isn't he steering the ship?" Kai complains to Zane down below on deck. My eyes trail to Sensei Wu standing on the wooden dragon head at the front of the ship. Balancing on one leg and leaning forward with his arms outstretched by his sides.

"We've been drifting aimlessly for miles," Kai said.

Zane looks to Sensei Wu, "Sensei's wisdom is beyond my own."

Sensei stood straight again and turned to address the two ninja facing him, "The most powerful move in Spinjitzu can only be accomplished if all four elements are combined."

Someone lightly tugged on my sleeve. "Come on. Let's go see what their blabbering about," Jay pulled again at my sleeve. I really didn't want to move from my spot. It's nice here, and I'm safe from the evil menace the cold. The wonderfully kind railing blocked some of the cold breeze's bullying. However, Jay wanted me to come along, eyes bright and waiting.
