- 1 week later - (i'm writin' a letter nightly, lmao)
Ember Today was the day, the day we were performing, performing for tons of people. I woke up at 6:00, since we were supposed to get there at 7:00. I took a shower, as usual, leaving my hair curly, and wore this.

I ate my breakfast, watched TV for a bit, and looked at my watch, 6:42. I started to head out to the theater.
- 15 minutes later -
I arrived at the theater, my body temperature rising.
"Hey, Ember!"
"Oh, hey, Pippa."
"Are you doing okay?" She said with concern in her voice.
"No, not really." I nervously chuckled.
"Is it because your anxiety?"
"One, mostly, I'm usually nervous when it comes to performing in front of crowds. Two, how did you know I had anxiety?"
"Oh, sorry, Oak had told me."
"Oh, okay."
"You'll do good, Ember." She smiled.
"Thanks, Pip." I smiled.
That didn't calm me in any way, my palms were sweaty, my knees felt weak, and my breathing got heavier. I took a few deep breaths to help, and surprisingly, it did, just a bit.
I headed towards the stage, with Lin wanting to give us directions.
"Okay from the top, you guys! We start our performance at 1:00."
-16 minutes later-
It was The Story of Tonight, which was my cue to get ready.
"They'll tell the story of tonight." The ensemble harmonized.
"Okay! Great job, you guys! Next up, where are my Schuyler Sisters?" He said joyfully.
I walked over there, interrupted by Daveed.
"Don't worry, you'll do a great job, darlin'." He whispered while smiling.
"Thanks." I nodded, returning the smile.
I took a deep breath, and walked to the stage.
-After The Schuyler Sisters-
I think I did a pretty good job. I didn't mess up, but there were some close calls. Pippa and Jazzy did such a good job. I think the hardest part are the high notes that Angelica does, and that one move when we sing, "We hold these troops to be self-evident that all men are created equal." I sometimes mess up the hand movements.
"Ember! You did so good!" Pippa and Jazzy exclaimed.
"Aw, really, thanks! You guys did great!" I said as I emphasized great.
"Ember, you did so well!" Daveed said.
"Thank you guys, really! I tried my best!"
"Your performance is going to be great!" Lin chimed in.
"Thank you guys so much."
I stayed in my dressing room, rehearsing my lines repeatedly.
- 6 hours later -
It was only about 15 minutes until showtime, I was incredibly nervous, I was sweating, I had knots in my stomach, and I just wanted to scream.
I was given salmon colored dress to put on, and put some thick white heels. I took a peek out and saw the stage was packed. I took a lot of deep breaths, in hopes of calming myself.
"Hey, Princess. How are you doing? Are you feeling okay?" Daveed said sincerely.
"Hey, Daveed. I'm doing okay, I guess." I smiled.
"Don't be nervous, darlin, you are going to perform out there, you are going to do a great job, and people are going to love you, understand?"
"I understand, thank you, Daveed." I said on the verge of tears. He knows how to cheer me up.
"1 minute until showtime, places everyone!" Someone on the intercom said.
"Princess, I gotta get going."
"Okay, have fun. I love you."
"I love you, too. You'll be amazing, I promise you that, darlin."
- 2 hours later -
Tears were streaming down my face, and we all bowed down, while people clapped. Everytime I hear, "he aims his pistol at the sky. WAIT!", or when the ensemble says, "the orphanage..." I completely lose it.
I was really proud of myself, I was able to overcome my anxiety. I didn't mess up, at least I don't think I did, and I was just very content with how I did. Dare I say, I was satisfied.
We went backstage to meet some fans.
- 1 hour later -
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, I'm very proud of how everything turned out, I'm very proud of you all! Get ready for the after party that starts in about 40 minutes!" Lin shouted.
"Ember!" I heard Daveed shout.
"Daveed, you did such a good job, I'm proud of you." I smiled.
"Princess, thank you. But you, you did a better job than I ever could."
"Thanks."
"Hey, can I walk with you to your house, and I could get ready with you?"
"Yeah, no problem."
- 10 minutes later -
I took a shower, left my hair natural, put on light makeup, and wore this:

A few minutes later, Daveed stepped out of the bathroom, a white dress shirt and black pants, looking like a snack. He always does.
"You look beautiful, Princess."
"You look handsome, Daveed." I blushed.
We walked the party, and as we got there, music was blaring through the speakers, and I started to feel nervous, I was always did around large groups of people. I felt better after Daveed had rubbed my shoulder. Damn, he has big hands, nice.
- After the party -
Daveed had a few drinks, and I had to lead him home, with no help. I plopped him on his bed, and left an asprin with a glass of water on his nightstand. I left the house, got in my sleepwear, and went to sleep, smiling, knowing that it was most likely going to be smooth sailing from here.
