Amid quiet flashes of lightning, the cloud stretches across the sea, enlarging the moon's reflection with it.

The moon's reflection grows and grows until it becomes the size of a house.

THE FULL MOON IN THE SKY

Still a clear night sky. There is no thundercloud. No flashes of lightning.

BACK TO SCENE

The moon's reflection creates the appearance of the MAN ON THE MOON. It has the face of a man in his sixties with a kindly smile. It's eyes look like distant stars.

Meteors begin to fall in sparse but big drops. Each drop speaks a unit of the words that compose the sentence of the Man on the Moon.

Its voice is deep but reassuring.

MAN ON THE MOON:      King of Fairy Tales, you are giving up much energy for this request.

FLIP:      All I ask is the magic to save Maria McKnight's life.

MAN ON THE MOON: Why do you care so much about the boy's mother? She is only a human. While you are a dragon.

FLIP:      She is not only a human. She is my mother.

The stars that twinkle in the eyes of the Man on the Moon begin to move like fireflies.

MAN ON THE MOON:      Very well. Roku, look at your right hand.

Flip looks at his right hand.
