It is Show-and-Tell. Flip is standing in front of the class, a tiny one-footer homemade robotic dragon in hand.
MARIA: (V.O.) In a desperate attempt to save his world, the dragon strove to bring back magic to Earth by telling fairy tales.
FLIP'S DRAGON
A scaled-down Roku model, of course.
FLIP: (O.S.) A dragon is a creature of magic that wields the powers of the elements earth, wind, water and fire...
BACK TO SCENE
Flip tells the class more about dragons.
FLIP: ...it can communicate with all living creatures in the universe.
The stern-looking TEACHER angrily grabs his robotic dragon and --
MARIA: (V.O.) But nobody would listen to him.
TEACHER: It's a big lie, Flip McKnight! There is nothing in history books about this so-called dragon!
-- accidentally presses a button at the back of it. The robot's mouth opens wide and spew out fire on the teacher's face.
