'Ello! I was requested to do a tutorial on how to make an image into a PNG with photoshop by @-graceless , so here I am!
To start with, pick out an image.
For this tutorial, I am going to use this image of the lovely Lorde.

Firstly, she has glorious hair. Secondly, her glorious hair is going to present a challenge to our PNG making, which is nice.
Let's get started!
1. Open your image of choice in Photoshop. Choose the quick selection tool, and then click 'select and mask' up there on the toolbar (items in this tutorial will be circled in red).

2. With the quick selection tool selected, and with size and such adjusted to your preference, paint over your image. It doesn't have to be entirely precise; just get the big stuff. We'll refine everything later.

Once you're done with 2, your image should look somewhat like this.
